Star Trek Into Darkness (Pre-release)

Uhura has dialog establishing that in the released film (see also earlier arguement that she's window dressing and no one listens to her vs action heroine and motivation for multiple characters) where she is all excited about intercepting and translating a transmission from the Klingon Homeworld about a single ship destroying 47 warbirds. The info is heard by that mouth breather Kirk and used again later to keep Pike from sending the 'Prise her her death like all the ships that didn't have the parking break on.

Actually Uhura clearly states that it was a distress signal sent during a prison escape from a Klingon prison planet. So the event of Nero being in a klingon prison is still mentioned in the film, it just doesnt go into detail.

Heard of the deleted scene where Nero was captured but missed the reference to it being a prison planet where the Klingon fleet was destroyed. Makes more sense now, I always wondered why Nero would attack the Klingons.

Supposedly the missing scenes started after the kelvin smashed into the Narada. After the shuttles escape the incapacitated Narada is shown listing in space, all of a sudden dozens of Klingon warbirds decloak surrounding the Narada.

I cannot wait till Klingon ships will be called Cruisers or warships.

They'll probably be called by the overused and misunderstood term battlecruiser which was nothing more than an upgunned cruiser and a military failure.

Fans of the Abrams Enterprise can look forward to this "1:500 scale" model kit coming in May from Revell Germany. 35 Euro. Not clear how big it is yet (it seems like it would have to be 2-1/2 feet long at the smallest, to be 1:500 scale, but who knows...)

So what did the Klingon's do just park the Narada near Rura Penthe for 25 years while Nero and his crew were imprisoned? Good thing they didn't try to dismantle it to study it or turn it into scrap.

Mix Tal Shiar booby traps with Borg Tech. I bet some of the processing systems in the Narada when she faced the Enterprise were assimilated Klingons.

Hmm.

Why do I get the feeling that if the writers and designers of Trek09 were asked to do Star Wars that they'd turn Tattooine into a forest planet and the Endor Moon into a desert planet? If they were assassins tasked with shooting Kennedy, they'd hit Lincoln.

Oh, Qo'noS. I weep for the future.
