Star Trek 'Grand Heritage' costume shirts?

I went against my policy of no retail costumes for Halloween this year. I had to! I spent sooooo much last year, I didn't have the time to save for a movie-quality costume.
I had to purchase the mid-grade trek uniform shirt (the grand heritage one was out of stock when I was ready to purchase)
One thing I noticed was that the mid-grade version (with the embroidered logo, not silk screened as the economy) had a more true-to-movie pattern. The other versions - including the grand heritage has a thick black line that runs alongside the delta pattern. Has anyone else noticed this??
This could be a trick to prevent a more accurate shirt getting out there (though that is my worst case theory).
Sure, the grand heritage has more accurate construction, but the pattern is not that great.
I really wish some company would step up and do movie-grade replicas of these shirts!

interesting how on this occasion 'iron on' silver strip is deemed 'great' just because the movie version had it as well.

it ain't durable, it flakes off and after a while looks awful, but of course, its screen accurate so that conquers all I guess.

Hi guys,
I got my GH Star Trek shirt set today and wow I am a bit disappointed. First of all I'm 6' 180lbs and the large is HUGE on me. It doesn't have that snug feel like the 'model' version. The backing on the plastic pin was hotglued on, but somehow the glue was bad quality and the backing fell off. The cuffs also did not have the silver ranking strips. It feels like I got a different version or one with quality control gone bad.
I'm going to get a medium and see how that fits. Just an FYI to people in case you find these problems with your GH set.:confused

To be honest you would be better off grabbing a deluxe. The neck on the grand heritage is even bigger then the
deluxe version and that one was oversized. The undershirt is garbage, and the pin is a blob of grey resin.
On top of that they are very overpriced. The fabric is a LITTLE better, but that is the only improvement.
You can't even take it in around the neck because you would mess up the trim. I am very unhappy with
mine and I got it for wholesale. For the price you would expect more for suck a simple design.

I took my command (yellow) out of storage in hopes of altering it to wear for the new movie coming out. I never really examined it until now, but wow!- the command color also has that dark line running vertically next to the delta pattern. As I now see in screen caps and close-ups from the exhibit tour, there is a faint lightening of the fabric on the upper right side of each delta. I wish I knew how to post pics (I'm still new here) to show a comparison. I plan on going through the laborious task of cutting out a stencil pattern to place over the fabric to lighten the "line" with an airbrush in order to approximate the film fabric. Also, my shirt was big on me when I got it, and way too big now. So I am going to bite the bullet, and tailor it upward. I have seen that the top seam runs to the shoulder, but in one pic, I can tell Chekhov's seam goes well past his shoulder, so I feel better about it. After tapering the arms, ironing on silver, and hemming, it's on to the denim motorcycle pants and modifying some slip-on Sketchers to approximate the boots! - Oh, and making a whole new crew neck undershirt out of dark grey heather cotton lycra as I have found they have in the movie.
