These are scheduled to be released this month - and because my Joker costume really broke the bank last year, I may have to resort to the dreaded commercially available costumes...that, and movie quality uniform shirts from the new movie are not yet available.
Just wanted to know if anyone has seen these yet in person? Post pictures if you have them!

I just pre-ordered one off entertainmentearth.com.
Still in pre-order status, but it scheduled to arrive in stock this month. When I recieve the item, I will be sure to post lots of pics with a thorough review.
I'm certainly NOT expecting accuracy (that kind of accuracy will only come from a fan-produced replica) but I am hoping that the 'Grand Heritage' version will at least be constructed of good fabric.

Still waiting for my order (backordered) but I stopped by my local Halloween store today to check out the standard Trek uniform shirts.
First thing I noticed was that the gold shirt pattern looked better than the blue. The blue seemed to have some kind of black shadow effect added that the gold did not. It looked terrible!
Second, the insigina is embroidered on - looks OK for a costume, but really - for all that effort to emroider the logo they should have just added a plastic pin.
The black 'undershirt' is as expected - just sewn into the top. The overall quality of the shirt could pass - fourtunately, the movie shirt is not that hard of a costume piece to produce, so the details are fair but no where near movie quality. I am hoping that the grand heritage version is much better (and for the price, it better be!)

Got my blue science officers today. I now have both Rubies versions in hand. Here ya go:
First up is the comparison of fabrics.

Both seem to have the same dye pattern but are definitely different color blues. The Grand Heritage shirt is lighter and maybe more accurate in color.

The regular version has an attached undershirt while the grand heritage has a separate lycra black undershirt. The GH also has teh good satin type of seming the regular version does not have

The sleeve cuffs are both sewn with the awful silver tape. The originals had a heat set strip. The Grand Heritage shirt cuff is much cleaner in how they sewed the cuff.

Last but not least is the symbols. The regular shirt has a embroidered symbol while the grand heritage comes with a pretty awful resin symbol painted gray with a blue painted insignia.

I'm wondering if the Grand Heritage could be made more "acceptable" by substituting a real turtleneck undershirt, more accurate badge, and iron-on rank stripes?

The overshirt material does look a bit too "shiny" though, I don't know what can be done about that. Washing?

the grand one comes with a shirt that actually looks ok when worn underneath. They didn't have actual Turtlenecks, more of a crew neck. I think u could eisilly mod the cuffs a bit but not sure how to do the stripe. I bought somemetal badges on ebay that I will use. Wish teh QMX ones would be out sooner!

Those stripes should be fairly easy to replace with the heat set versions. Now to find the proper metalic material for the new stripes. Thank God for Google.

Hmmm. I think the pattern is simply too intense. That's what could make or break the overall effect-- a characteristic I'm pretty familiar with in costuming.
Have to see one in person.
(Thanks for the review!)
