Star Trek "Best of Both Worlds" in theaters April 25th

I'm hoping for a much lengthier view of the spaceship "graveyard". All those wrecked starfleet vessels blew my mind when I first saw them. But, I'm sure we'll only get the few seconds of digital clarity and I'll probably end up dizzy as I try to spot all of them.

With the new "Best of Both Worlds" dedicated BluRay, you'll probably get to see some behind the scenes footage of those very models used for filming. I mean, did anyone predict we would ever see the full "Conference Room" pencil animation in all it's glory? I sure as heck didn't. I always thought it was a live action plate.

I hope it is showing here in Louisville, Ky!!!
I'll be there!!!:)

Thanks Jeyl,

I am in the Middle of all of these locations.
I'm in Louisville on the Map, in-between the Taylor Blvd. & Louisville International Airport location.

Now to find the Theaters on the Map... :)

So that's it? Your ignorant arguments about The Next Generation being in HD is nothing more than a stab at TNG for not being as good as the original series in general? This is not a TOS vs TNG debate. This is about TNG getting some recognition again, and for a very good reason. TNG being in High Definition should, for all intents and purposes, never have happened. You don't see this sort of thing happen often because the product we got for the original broadcast was supposed to be the end all, be all of TNG. Even Rick Berman openly regrets not doing TNG in a film format to better preserve the quality.

TOS had it's HD run when it had the remastered episodes, the theatrical showing of "The Menagerie" in theaters, and the wonderful BluRay sets that were released after the death of HD-DVD. This is simply TNG's turn, and the results have been wonderful.

The TNG blu rays have been setting the standard for future conversions. Because of the poor quality of the original masters, with the effects being combined on video, they made the decision to go back to the original film elements. The phasers, proton torpedos, and beaming was all redone by most of the same team that did them originally. What you get is literally the best of both worlds. The resolution of the original film elements had not yet been seen until now, and the quality in the colors is a huge improvement over the original broadcasts.

I own a very poor quality downloaded versions of TNG and have been holding out for quality like these blurays when the dvds were released. Can't wait to see this two parter in the theater, just bought my tickets.

You sure "Q Who" wouldn't be a better introduction? He'll get to know the characters better before the big event.

He's only 6. Not sure it matters...

However, maybe a screening of that one at home the night before is in order. :)

If he's six, the visuals, music and style should be sufficient. The sight of a man disappearing at his own will, the crew exploring the massive Borg interior and the chase in the end should interest him. I remember watching Star Trek at that age so it's never too early. Of course, this will all probably depend on his attention span.

His attention span is great, I've raised him right! :lol

He watches TOS with me as well as a lot of other stuff. He loved the BTTF trilogy (watched when he was 4). I took him to see Raiders last summer when it was in theatres...

All good!

I thought the Cpt got "borged" in 1st contact? I'm watching the last episode of of season 2 tonight, loved seeing "Q who" again and my daughter began building a borg arm from a crackerbox and silver paint as soon as we finished it! ;). Is this the "movie" I'm thinking of? (assimilate this!) I haven't seen TNG since it originaly aired.
