Limited Run Star Lord VOL.2 Element Guns, accurate versions of both blaster variants

Protip for builders. If you plan to use an airbrush with a paint like Alclad II, you can get a nice aluminum-like surface if you rub down the gloss black basecoat with fine steel wool before spraying. The uneven surface, with very light scratches and patches of glossiness, will make Alclad "chrome" look more like brushed aluminum and less like "fake chrome".

Announcement for anyone thinking of getting one of my kits:
From October and onwards, wait times may start to be several weeks longer than usual due to new commitments I am have taken on for the foreseeable future, especially if I have several things in the print queue.

Also, here's an example of Alclad II Chrome applied with an airbrush over a lightly scratched/buffed surface. Sealed with a urethane-based 2-part automotive clear-cote (specifically, House of Kolor's UC35) that does NOT dull the sheen and is much more durable than rattle-can paint. (The photo is from the new set of Element Guns I am making for myself.)

NOTICE:

I may have an extra set of HYDRO DIPPED carbon-fibre straight "hero" grips to offer with a future kit order. Cost would probably be around $430 total (instead of 350) for that kit.Note that I will probably only have ONE set (not available separately) and that I do not take commissions for hydro-dipping because it's simply too time-consuming. These are extras from the buildup I am currently doing for myself.

Update. The last couple of weeks I have been doing a complete overhaul and upgrade of my machine, essentially replacing all main parts (including some software tuning which is still in progress) in addition to starting a new job.

Over the last few months, the dollar value has fallen quite a bit and along with my current extreme lack of time, it's unfortunately looking like the cost of these will need to be raised at the end of October as I refocus on finishing other projects that have fallen by the wayside lately.

So do you know what the additional cost will be...just wondering since I have been putting away for a set, but will not be able to order a set until sometime in December...Just want to know how far off I'm going to be.

thanks again for keeping us up to date :)

Most likely $50-100 higher.

Finished up a pair of these a little while back. A bit exaggerated with the weathering but that's my style.. painted too many Star Wars props I guess. :lol

Great kit Joa. These were a blast... to finish. :)

Nicely done and thanks for the praise! Nothin' wrong with heavy weathering. Some of the original props that have been on display are pretty beaten up.

NOTE: I happen to have ONE set ALREADY MADE of the straight "hero" versions for sale in the Junkyard for the original cost, pre-exchange-rate raise!

Heads-up. During MARCH-APRIL I will do 2-4 sets of these for the OLD cost of $350. PM if interested!

One question: what is the size of the vol. 2 blaster? Would like to know if these could fit my overall pants/holster- combination in terms if size..

I'll measure the models when I get home. (Note: Adam Savage used my Vol 1 blasters... the really BIG ones in his recent cosplay. I recommended those because he is pretty tall and was going for a pure Vol 1 getup.)

OK, the Vol 2s are a little over 29cm long. (My old Vol 1s are a few cm longer... 34-ish... depending on if you have the muzzle open or not. They're pretty big!)
