So... this morning I placed a custom order for a batch of zippers, with custom dyed backing tape. Never thought I'd ever be paying a small fortune to get zippers made but there you go! Accuracy demands sacrifice, haha. I'll be setting up a JY thread for the extras that I don't need, but not until I have them in-hand, which should be around the 22nd of Aug. I'll let y'all know in this thread as well when they arrive. If you PM me now I'm liable to forget when the day comes since my head is full of a zillion simultaneous projects, so please watch this space instead!

I'm also going to do separate screen-printing patterns for the front and back of the jacket. Since the Walkman is insanely expensive, I'm going to start modeling one up instead. I might even make it hollow, with a hinged lid, so that I can fit my phone and things in there and have the headphone jack "functional". Like a BIG iphone case! Should be easy enough to do. Just for kicks I'll model up the arm valve to have as a backup/placeholder until the real one can be found.

I think having a Walkman "case" for a phone would be brilliant. I'm considering building one for my costume (though I probably won't do it until later, since my con is in 3 weeks and my helmet isn't finished yet!) so I can have my phone with all the songs from the Awesome Mix hooked up to the orange headphones.

Love the Walkman idea. I thought about getting a "close enough" for just such a thing: Gut it and use it as a wallet or phone case.

IIRC there were some zippers on the back of the jacket too. I may be crazy though.

There are zippers on the back of the pants, I don't think there are on the jacket.

Well, Alexandra Byrne (the customer designer on Avengers and GotG) seems to like hiding zippers... Nick Fury's coat in AA has "useless", hidden zippers running down the length of it so it isn't impossible that there could be one on either side under the back shoulder yoke running down, but I haven't seen any indication of there being any more zippers.

If you buy in bulk i would be looking at doing the 2 zippers on the pants and 1 for the front jacket. How long are the zipper?

Good ID on the coat too, I thought it was a suede as well until that close up where you see the grain you posted. Thanks!

Same here, interested in two zippers. Also curious how long the zippers will be since us tall people might need them longer.

As far as the stripes without the silk screened pattern goes, I think they just masked off the pieces of fabric, possibly just with tape, before laying the screen down on them.
