If this is sold as a kit only and anyone needs it assembled and professionally painted, I would LOVE to have this in my portfolio - please contact me if applicable. Looking great so far!

It'll be like TheRocketeer's other helmets, cast in resin. It'll need some finishing and painting. It won't be a raw 3D print like the picture I posted on page 3...

This is badass! Seeing the movie tonight. I'm definitely in!

Would you mind specifying what you mean by finishing? Just because I'm absolute crap with a dremmel and wouldn't be able to do any trimming of this piece. I'm super interested in this piece.

Not seeing the final cast yet, I'm not quite sure. All helmets are different and this one is extremely detailed compared to most. We'll have to wait and see...

Re: Star Lord Helmet from 3D Print (collab with TheRocketeer)

Finishing usually means cleaning up of any mold/seam lines, and basic prep for painting, which from past experience of The Rocketeers work is usually minimal, his stuff is always of a very high quality.

Re: Star Lord Helmet from 3D Print (collab with TheRocketeer)

Thanks :) and yes I try to make any prep as minimal as possible.. I end up finishing tons of my work..and I don't like clean up :)
I would say the biggest thing that would need to be cleaned is going to be the eye sockets will need to be dremmeled out. But we will see once I get working on it..
And there is always GeneralFROSTY to do finishing work as well... he is the top of the list when it comes to finishing helmets :)

Glad we're getting a lot of interest, an amazing movie helps. TheRocketeer and I were talking, we're probably going to have to limit this (at least the 1st run) to 10-15. We don't want to ignore other stuff we're doing too. We'll be asking for deposits next week, save up your pennies guys!

Ya, answering emails and PMs seems important eh?

Re: Star Lord Helmet from 3D Print (collab with TheRocketeer)

Hey it's looking good, could you please add me to the list for one? I've been trying all over the place for one but getting nowhere, and then I found this thread...I hope I am early enough to go on the list? Thanks

I'd definitely be interested in your services once these kits are finished, if they don't offer an option for a finished helm. Any estimate on what that would cost? Message me with info if you get a chance!

Regardless, still looking forward to this helm, definitely interested.

Re: Star Lord Helmet from 3D Print (collab with TheRocketeer)

Helmets typically run $250, I quote flat rate so the buyer knows what to expect.
Shipping is extra. If you want "mirrachrome" instead of standard chrome spray paint, that's extra.
These kits look like they will be top quality and easy to work with so I'd be happy to offer my services!
My apologies to the OP for hijacking here. Excited to paint one!
