Yep, exactly.

So...new kit please, Bandai!

That was my very first thought....kinda luke warm on the movie idea, but I'm looking forward to a high end, updated Yamato kit.

Seriously I think they'd be mad to pass on it, assuming the movie does any kind of boxoffice. They could just treat it as a slightly different boxing of the existing kit - maybe with "live action" versions of the sound effects and an expanded lighting rig plus etched brass frets for the catapults, railings and antennae. Just that much seems like a no-brainer.

Of course I'd prefer them to include the new hull panelling too but that'd require actual mould retooling. Eh, a completely new kit would be perfectly plausible though, especially if this is the first in a new franchise.

gimme a proper 1/350 Andromeda and i'll be good.

Not sure of the scale and it's more of a toy than a model but there is a new Andromeda coming out in Feb of next year for around $311.

Not sure who is producing it, possibly Bandai, but it's a SOC (Soul of Chogokin) which, I think, means that's it's largely metal and from the pics it looks pretty sweet.
