I want the Leia saber because I've loved the Leia character forever and I adore Carrie Fisher. Plus she's a core OT character and I really like the design.

I was interested in the 'Dark Rey' saber before the movie came out. I was hoping in the movie Rey was going to be a clone, and Rey and all the Jedi Force Ghosts were going to have a massive lightsaber fight against an army of 'Dark Rey's' at the end of the movie. Instead it was about 8 seconds of 'Dark Rey' in a vision, and while the scene was fine I'm 100% less interested in the 'Dark Rey' saber now.

That would be great. I have the Dark Rey saber modeled and Tony has the Leia saber drawn up. But there are some details that we need to check out before moving forward. So any references would be appreciated.

Yep.
No need to reinvent the wheel when the files are already out there.

Only mods would be the turning gear and the "key to Hamunaptra " flaps on the end.

Kinda silly using the hex plate as the emitter since the end of the staff is already open.

No clue what you’re seeing. The saber is exactly the end of the staff. Only difference is that the grip section appears to be wrapped for the saber.

It's for sure intended to be same as that part of her staff. It's the end part upside down. But the handle area is a little different and with more straight lines, less curvy. Of course the prop is not literally the same parts but based on them. And the top opening mechanism has been added.

To date I've only been interested in collecting OT sabers, but in my head canon I always believed that Leia trained with Luke to be a Jedi soon after ROTJ, and this saber is based on a flashback to this time. Gonna be a tough decision...
