I quite like Rey's new lightsaber. And how the activation switch is turned on by spinning it with her thumb. The design reflects who Rey is. She took something old, made it useful, and then made it into something new.

The VD are always a letdown now because the book is printed before the movie comes out and they don’t want any spoilers so it never includes anything that wasn’t in the trailers. IIRC the Solo VD didn’t have Maul and the EP8 VD didn’t have Yoda.
I’m definitely waiting for a Romans Empire or AnakinStarkiller to post a run in the JY for Leia’s Saber, and I’m also waiting for someone to post an EP9 Rey clamp/saber kit with the EP9 Rey clamp that will twist/lock my Graflex top/bottom and I can add the rivets and it includes the leather, clamp card, and bottom stamp cover.

This may sound funny, however, after the last jedi came out, I started a friendly build contest for Reys new saber. The winner was Roy and his version was the exact same concept as the screen used. A simple coupling to hold the saber back together.
There was also another member that did use the staff concept.
Did we influence these sabers in some form?

At first he posted a video of just the TRoS clamp section that locks onto the graflex like you say

Roman said his Graflex replicas were used as the hero saber in IX. I wouldn't be surprised if he had new clamps prepped and waiting for the movie to be released.
I thought the wayfinder looked a lot like a holocron.
The Rey's New Saber competition was a fun thing to follow. Halliwax, I thought of that competition when I saw both sabers on screen.

I don't like any of the new sabers. I think the 'fixflex' is ridiculous: after it got destroyed as much as it did in TLJ it can never look as pristine as it does now and I don't like the clamp shape and the leather is out of place.
I VERY much dislike Leia's saber. Too designed. Too prequel-like. Too clean. Nothing I can imagine fitting with princess Leia. I find it ugly.
The staff-saber with warm yellow light I like best and makes sense to me. Although it is a bit too bulky and totally unfit for dueling, it does look powerful and fits Rey because of her staff and scavenging background. Not very ladylike though. Not a very elegant weapon!
Anyway, that said, I did help Khal from KR Sabers with the leather parts of the fixed flex for his upcoming replica. That one is gonna be ultra accurate. I can tell you that! And for a very fare price!

Totally im dying to machine this. Just need a bit better reference. There are a couple pretty nice pics floating around but not enough detail in the emitter portion
I love leias.. To me its very og trilogy. Yes its clean but shes also a princess and chose more of military life vs a jedi so im guessing it wasnt used too much

Yeah it's always a gamble when it comes to the details on products like this but at least its a good starting point.

I looove Rey's new saber! I was intrigued when I saw how long the hilt is, but I wouldn't mind betting it actually is a double bladed saber and we only saw her ignite one half. She's used to using her staff so it would make sense to combine Luke's lightsaber and her staff into one.
On another note, where are you getting screencaps guys?! I'm in desperate need of some good screenshots of her bag!
