Spock's Staion blueprints TOS

yup. I have graphic displays in all of the computer display squares now. I'm cutting out the viewscreen and ship plaque displays on the turbolift today and will assemble the whole kit for a try-out. Right now, they look great and I'll get some nice pics of it to post. I'll also post a sample image of the graphic I created with the display images. This is coming out so well, I'm thinking of fine tuning my graphic into an accurizing kit.

I've got a miniature viewer (used Spock's station) made and am crafting a mini computer component for his station as well. Going to take a shot at backlighting them, too.

Holy crap! You have GOT to take some really good pictures and post them of those displays! I didn't realize that you had thought through that part already!! WOW!! Heck! I might be interested in an accurizing kit if that is what you have in mind. VERY cool!!

Wow, now you're doing the Spock station? Did you sell off your transporter or are you going to squeeze both in the living room?

I still have my transporter. Unfortunately, I had to take it a part and put it in storage so to (hopefully) faciliate the sale of my home. Arrghhh (I am having to sell my house due to issues with my ex wife. :( I have got to move into my daughters school system.)

However, Nomad is still watching!! lol

It's GOOD to hear from you!!

Ooops... I forgot to mention... I am hoping to move into a larger house. And then I will have enough space for everything. :) So I figure it will be within the next few months and I will be able to started with the build. RIght now, I am getting ALL the info and things I need together, so that once I get moved into the new house... I can get after "it" with as few of setbacks as possible. :)

Hello,

I have a question, but I'll quickly introduce myself first. I've been monitoring this forum for a while. This will be my first post. I am not a prop builder, just a long time fan of sci-fi, Star Trek in particular. I'm amazed by the excellent craftsmanship I've seen here by those posting. You should all be in the movie making business, IMO. Onto my question...

Regarding the bridge perimeter stations on Star Trek TOS...I was wondering if anyone agrees that many of buttons that originally appeared to be wedge shaped (or prism shaped?) were later replaced by pairs of square buttons?

I have a folder full of ST:TOS images, and theres an excellent promo shot of Nichelle Nichols at her station (looking smashing, btw). She's wearing a tan uniform (early in the series?). Behind her, you can clearly see all the wedge shaped rectangular buttons. Not a square one among them. However, I was watching "Bread and Circuses" (2nd season) recently, and there's clear close up shot near the end of Nichelle. On the station behind her, it seems all the wedges are gone, replaced with pairs of squares. This minor change also seemed to happen to Nimoy's station in later episodes, but I can't confirm that for sure.

Since you guys were discussing Spock's station, I thought it a relevant question. Having been watching a lot of the old ST:TOS lately (a great way to pass time when you travel as much as I do), I'd been wondering if it was "just me". Or, was there some obvious set retooling between seasons.

Regards, everyone. And again, amazing prop work being done here.

No, I think you are right. For example... Between the 1st and 2nd seasons they TOTALLY re-did Sulu's helm panel. Replacing the Wedge shaped "jewel lights" with the square ones. I think the reason they changed to the square ones was due to the difficulty in making the wedge ones. I believe both the square and round ones were made from ice cube trays. I know for sure that the square were produced that way. Anyway, the wedge ones were not a easily mass produced as simply using a pre-made ice cube tray would.

You have a good eye!! lol Keep it up! :)

Hey Galactica53 et al,

I'm new here - just joined recently after searchinig for some reference pictures for working on my AMT Bridge build. I've found some great stuff on this forum. I was wondering if there was any update on getting these Desilu Studios blueprints or anything else since this thread was last updated.

Sorry to ask for something on the first post, but I'd love to hear more about this. I'm trying to accurately do the bridge using aftermarket parts. I'm glad to see that others have an interest in this too.

Thanks again.
