Spiderman Noir costume(In the works and pics galore)

in regards to the shattered dimenion do you guys think the new sweater will work or do you think I should run it through a dye bath and if so in what color
here is a side by side shot comparison

I think you should darken it because he is supposed to lurk in the shadows and it seems a little light right now.

I would figure Olive Drab would be close to the color you want.

If you don't feel like dying it, you could try and locate a military surplus store and see if they have any?

sorry the lighting in the pic doesnt really help lol. Its hard to justify the color because the game designers washed out the color to make it look artistic. please somone shoot me in the head. Im pretty sure its a brown looking at this pic which in the shot he is under a spot light. I might run it through a dye bath to make it darker but I also have the option to go all black cause many times in the game you end up completely black and shadowed because of the mechanics of the game are built for noir spidey to sneak around.
heres the same pic with a better lit pic from the game

in that shot it does look brownish, so id say give a hint darker of a wash. it also seems like the sweater has a dark pin-stripe. do you plan to do the same?

Little known fact: For night-time camouflage you actually don't want jet-black, you want some black with mostly dark and drab greens, blues, greys and browns. The reason why is that black can still be easily picked up by the human eye in dim light, but the dark and drab colors mess with the way human eyes handle dim light, making it much harder to clearly see or pick out an outline.

The fact the Noir Spidey seems to have been designed with that partly in mind is really awesome, and means that this costume is going to be amazing looking in person with dim lighting.

josh, I think the shirt does need to be darker and more drab, but it's certainly brown. You're doing an awesome job on this costume, and I can't wait to see the full thing together. You're gonna look badass.

thanks, Ill be putting it through a quick dye process and I'll have to get it refitted, cause the sleeves are tad bit to long and so is the torso. I have no plans to darken the lines cause the reason they are darkened is more of artistic design then it is actual design. both in concept shots and comparing to the concept of the comic the costume that is used in shattered dimensions was with out the dark lines that are currently on it. needless to say I might end up putting them on there(lol) using something simple like 3d fabric paint or something of that sort. Dont know yet, still have alot to do and not enough time. progress is still being made on the vest but its slow going because of the very weird stitch lines on the vest, making the transition into real life product a pain.

So B89 offered to make me a insane spidey emblem to go on the back of the vest and since mine isnt up to par with what an f/x guy can do I went with it heres the initial sculpting with a comparison shot from the game.
so far out of all of my other costumes for sdcc, this one is the cheapest currently at $170.00 worth of spending. (sorry about the fuzzy pics he took them with his cell just to update me)

This kind of costume is my favorite, its one that combines many types of building. its got sculpting and making/finding clothes and i think i saw vacumforming too. very cool.

SO ITS MY BDAY and I have a quick update
My friend has made the mock vest and I must say it is the spitting image from the game, now shes working on the final piece and she sent me some updates for me
Heres the sweater again refitted and the buttons which have been covered to look like the ones in the game

the button on top is the original and the button on the bottom is covered

Ill add the finished vest pics when it gets assembled and also the sweater goes through a very light dye bath of either a cocoa brown or brown dye.
:cool
