So like the title says I'm working on a spiderman noir outfit for this coming up SDCC. I figured since the game shattered dimensions is coming up and I have not seen many renditions of this outfit I would give it a go. So far I have completed the mask, goggles, sweater and coat. I now have to draw up designs for the vest which is implemented in shattered dimensions
here are reference shots
Spiderman noir comic...
Spiderman Noir shattered Dimensions (note: Dimensions has a filter which causes the colors to be diluted, from many art shots Ive concluded the vest is black, pants are a dark gray with black pin stripe and the sweater is a brownish, I will be making a flat black costume in order to be more true to the comic colors.)
Costume.
I was able to track down some u.s. Issued 1930 goggles, which in the comic is referenced to most of the costume being military attire.
here are some of the pics I have so far, still have to put some mirror tint on the lenses. Also shout-out and thanks to azspiderman he provided me with a most epic face shell which really helps the costume look even better. So thank you so much azspiderman for doing that, the faceshell was perfect and I couldn't wait to put in my mask and take pics :lol
For the mask stitching I picked up some waxed thread from my local leather store, I really wanted to bring out the stitches like they do in comic, so I had to shop around and find some really good thread to make it stand out.
Pics
Goggles
They were standard olive drab and in pretty bad condition when I got them, Was able to sand it down, paint black, re-do the straps and also fix up the lenses.
version 2 goggles 1930's Military Issued
Version 1 goggles, aviator style
Ill update this soon when I make more progress, would love some feedback or opinions on what I should change, I'm trying to make this good for SDCC as an Alaskan I don't get to go to big cons in lower 48's and this is my first time for an out of state con so I'm trying to bring it up to par. I've made alot of costumes in the past so I'm not a noob just trying to make it better. ninjaninjaninjaninjaninja
