Spider-man Tattoo - NEED HELP

Hey community,

I have long thought about getting another tattoo and have long put off getting a Spider-man related tat.

The issue I have is what to get??? I want something that Peter himself would get. Thought I'd get creative input from the RPF community!

Any thoughts?? What tattoo? Colour/B&W? Where?

So many cool Spidey poses to choose from, but since you want something Peter himself would get, that kind of removes Spider-Man out of the equation. Mary Jane's image/name/initials are some things which Peter might consider. I still think you should consider some Spider-Man in costume imagery instead.

If I ever get a tattoo in my life, it will be either something BTTF or Spider-Man related.

Get Gwen Stacy as a pin up on your arm.

if you want to be slick and funny. Get a box of uncle Ben's rice. But instead of the normal uncle Ben put in a head shot of the Peter's uncle Ben. Seems like something the fun loving Peter would do.

* Spider biting your hand exactly where it actually did.
* Date of Uncle Ben's death; only you would know what it meant (like Peter would)
* "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility"
* RIP Gwen

Also love the Gwen stacy pin up, although I would have to get Mary Jane too...and Felica Hardy....can't discriminate

I imagine the spider would be blue and red and that's where Peter gets his inspiration. Would also make it more visually appealing?

Also if not done correctly could just look like a jail spider tattoo.

Maybe if the spider was drawn like a comic/cartoon spider. Like if the 'Comic book version' of Peter got a tattoo.

This is one of those times where I remind the OP that tattoos are permanent, and that you should be certain you're getting exactly what YOU want, since it's going to be with you for the rest of your life.

Make sure you find a reputable artist with a portfolio full of quality pieces that you like, and who practices safe and clean tattooing.
Make sure you find an artist that is willing to advise you on proper placement and size.

Your artist (assuming they are the genuine article) may have some suggestions themselves, and it's good to talk to them about it before committing yourself to an idea. They've probably been doing this a lot longer than you and have a better idea of what's going to look good 40 years from now.

Remember, you get what you pay for. Cheap tattoos aren't good, and good tattoos aren't cheap.

Idk if I would do a spider bite or any tat on my hand. That will always be in the spot light and might not be right in what ever do in life. But everyone is different and it's your body to choose what's right

Peter would obviously get one of those heart "Mom" tattoos but with "Aunt" instead. Some tribute to Gwen and following "One More Day" MJ's name would likely be crossed out because **** married superheroes.

Snark aside, definitely the spider that bit him or the date of Ben's death. Maybe Gwen's death date as well.

Let's be honest here, Peter wouldn't get a tattoo at all

This, haha. I myself am considering getting some tattoos, but honestly getting one on your hands or face is just straight up a bad idea. I personally don't have anything against it, but a lot of employers and other people will consider it unprofessional, so I can't recommend the biting spider thing.

Anyway maybe you could get a spider tracer or a web? And I know you don't want Spidey himself but I still think a suited pose or spider symbol would be cool. And I love the idea of the Gwen/MJ/Black Cat pinup

Maybe the reboot peter.

But I keep picturing the Spiderman from my childhood who would be more likely to do a GI-Joe style "knowing is half the battle" segment about what a mistake tattoos are.

I am covered in tattoos. one thing you should do before getting a tat is research any secondary meanings behind them...in this case spiders.
spider webs are traditional prison tats. though they have become more popular these days.
Not sure if it applies anymore, but i remember seeing a lot of latino gangbangers at school that has spiders on their hands in between thumb and forefinger. so maybe stay away from that one, lol.
other than that, just know that when you go to an artist look at his portfolio, and his workspace (it should be hospital sterile, or go somewhere else.) and check several artists, dont just go with the first one.

I got this one years ago, and since THOR came out people actually know its called Mjolnir! lol. or meow meow.

good luck, and post a pic when you get it.
just remember to slap it hard when the artist is done, it helps stop the bleeding. just whack away it.
