Spear of Destiny / Spear of Longinus / Holy Lance

I am well aware of the way this piece is assembled. ;) Still, the eye infection going on so no work for me at the moment.

That's great news about the measurement from the museum! So 507mm is the overall length? Damn that's a lot longer than my old photo with dimensions! Time to update.

Wasn't the spear part of the Austrian Crown jewels and Hitler wanted all the regalia and not just the spear...

that's correct.

Also try Tony Swaton in Burbank. He made two prop copies of the spear.. One for a documentary.. And one for Constantine

That's interesting.. The spear is also in the hellboy movie. The constantine one looks different. No latin inscriptions on it if I remind correctly

outlander, is there any chance you could provide some close-ups ? In particular of the silver-wire parts holding the lance together and keeping the nail in place ?

Magnoli's Spear of Longinus…

I guess if I was to be ultra critical I would say his gold sheath is not quite smooth enough and that the lettering appears to be too heavily embossed. Aside from those aesthetic differences, this is IMO an exceptionally well made artefact replica and one that I still consider an absolute treasure amongst my other collectibles.
