I am watching this with much interest as well. Would love to get the Dark Helmet bucket if you make them available. The only thing i notice is that the sides seem to come down more before flaring out in the Screen used one.

I have modified the mold already . This is the difference between the first dome on the second mold

ok little update !

5th attempt on the face plate... lol and look better

here is the pics before bondo , and this is the first dome i put on it ( i'm waiting to receive my black polystyrene to make the real one )

i know the face plate is not positioned correctly like as it should , but it's just for show you the progress

Great work...

I was just starting plans on this myself, but don't have a form machine, so was thinking of a way to build it. Being 6'4", an at scale helmet would prob tear or be a bit too thin if I did the vac-form way.

You're kinda my hero for making this, this is officially the coolest thing I have seen along with the Barf cosplayer at AN a few years ago. Spaceballs FTW.

im pretty excited about this. finally a costume that is right for my size. i have been wanting to do this for awhile but without a vac former was thinking it would be too difficult to make a helmet that looked good. it's such a huge helmet. lol

im pretty excited about this. finally a costume that is right for my size. i have been wanting to do this for awhile but without a vac former was thinking it would be too difficult to make a helmet that looked good. it's such a huge helmet. lol

yeah i know what are you talking about ! lol, i'm 5'6" and 140 lbs .. that's why it would be perfect for me to make this costume hehehe

Very cool build! I love the faceplate you built - it's perfect!

You will certainly be a HUGE hit at conventions with this baby! Even the generally poor Darth Helmet costume I've seen at a regional Con, I swear the dude had a gaggle of chicks following everywhere he went. Must be for his giant helmet. lol

Ok little update ,

3 days of bondo and primed for the face plate, i need to do the master mold before the vac forming test.
