Space Marine build (full Size)

Ok legs need to be ajusted a little higher
Small note shoulders were not attached down, just sitting in sockets for test.
and I got my gloves in mail, woot now I can work on those. I also will start working on the sewing part, making the tabard and the under armor pants

Ok another small update , got the tabbard finished

Now on to the under armor shorts and then battle damage and purity seals

here are a couple more walking test pics, trying to get it ajusted right

OK a few more details and some more battle damage and we will be ready for megacon in Orlando, woot woot

Looks great sir. I had to chuckle when I saw the little white dog with the big bad SM. White is such a tough color, but I think you pulled it off. Have fun in Orlando.

OK here it is with some battle damage, is it enough or should he go take on a few more demons

ok got the audio system in helm, heres a pic of inside of helm and a small vid to show you how it sounds. the mic slightly picked up my real voice because it was so close but outside of that I think it sounds good

Ok, the rebuild has started. After attending Megacon 2014 and meeting, speaking and seeing Sylgian's outstanding SM build in person

it's time to step up my game. Sylgian answered a lot of questions and gave me lots of Ideas to make my build better.
So here goes.
First I ordered foam from the site that sylgian mentioned Cross-Linked Polyethylene Foam, Closed Cell Foam Padding, Foam Rubber Sheets
I ordered three 3/8 inch sheets 48"X72" aprox 28.00$ per sheet( free shipping if over 75.00$.) While I'm waiting for sheets to arrive I printed up shineys sm game pep file for for the chest and backpack set at 935 and I started cutting out the the chest and backpack paper sections.

Ok the foam has arrived, only took 7 days to get from date of order, outstanding. Its going to be nice working with full sheets , not 2 x 2 squares

I Traced out the pattern onto foam. And here is a nice tip. Don't cut out the the lower cuts on the front chest pattern

It will make the chest look look 100% better.

You can see already how much better it looks

I also modified the the collar area. Instead of using the pieces off the pattern I just cut several main collar pieces and hot glued them together to form the collar

and also put some detail on front and back to make it look better

Ok, on to the backpack. one of the biggest problems with my build was the time to put it on and take it off( approx 10 mins ether way.) Sylgiain again gave me a better way, instead of bolting on pack as I did with mine I read his site in more detail and found he could slide his backpack into place in aprox 5 secs, no nuts and bolts needed. LIGHT JUST CAME ON, BING. Started rebuilding pack with that in mind

I'm still going to have the 10 inch fan in it so I cut the vent holes for front and hole in back to let air into suit. I then built a support from alum flat rod

That will give it some strengh and make the hanging hooks.
In this next pic you can see the hooks coming through the foam reddy to be hooked to the chest
And again the same as Sylgian, sort off, I used a pc of plasic that I cut from a storage tub and made a reinforcing pc where the hooks attach to the chest

I will say this again later, Thank you Sylgian for your Ideas and assistance

Ok here another mod update. Heres the completed new chest and new shoulders

100% better than ver. one

Here is the new way I mounted the new shoulders, Another Idea from Slygian, sort of. I made a L shaped bracket out of flat alum. and and made foam sleeve for it it set in

I then glued complted pc to inside off shoulder

I then made a slip bracket out of foam that would slide over the alum riser and glued that into the shoulder pad

And in the following pics you will see how it works, and it works well. my old shoulder had a nut, washer and bolt that had to be put together. I went from a aprox 5 min to 15 sec attach time, woot
