Space Command Clipper Build

I read somewhere that Von Braun went to congress after the Apollo program with a detailed plan for a manned mission to Mars, to be done by 1980. No one was interested :unsure
Von Braun had the wisdom to work with Walt Disney, who I think was just as pivotal with selling the moon landing as Von Braun.

Sadly, without Walt to help keep the public's interest. The space program died a quick death. But then a lot died with Walt, but that's another story.

When you look over the Cape, the facilities were set up for a production setting. Which means they were intending to get Saturn boosters out quickly.
I once read somewhere they were wanting to put up a Saturn once a month.
What I would have given to see a Saturn V launch. Feel would be more like it.

The original proposals for the space shuttle were really wild. Those concepts were proven over 30 years after they finalized the shuttle design.
It was called Spaceship One, the funny thing about Spaceship one. It has more in common with Steve's E than the space shuttle(I know that's simplifying it a bit, I know Steve will like that one:lol).

Thanks guys and thanks Max. I plan next to do the Ferry. Vacuum form no molds really. No kits just a big ass Werner Ferry. Doug said if I build it they will use it on Space Command as set decor.

Always loved that model from the first time I saw him holding on Man in Space.

Yes when Walt Died so did Disney. I never go to the park anymore or watch the films. It's like watching Abram's Star Trek. Just not the same. ;)

Steve

Thanks so much for taping and posting these. They're hugely informative (especially for someone like me who has hardly done any modeling), they're absolutely fascinating and even though its just watching videos online they create a great sense of community. Thanks Steve for all your effort in taping and producing these!!

Steve, I think I have an idea for some nose art.

Yikes! Won't Bugs attract the ire of Warner Bros' trademark and licensing lawyers? Not that it isn't fantastic ... can you license it?

Steve, seeing the master getting made was fascinating and very educational. And I'm looking even more forward to the mold making stage.
