...And turn together on 3,2,1...turn

Did anyone ever come up with a clever display idea for these?

These are from an older replica run I offered about 3 years ago. Made of titanium they're cool pieces. I sold a few sets to museums. I also offered a cheaper version in stainless steel, here.

Anyway, I've seen some put the old steel ball-chain on them but I'm looking for a more fitting display.

Any ideas?

when these first were offered I wondered why nobody made and sold the "global thermonuclear war" map from "Wargames" display in a back lighted frame with these keys on it.

If memory serves, these keys would 'normally' be stored in some kind of glass/acrylic case embedded in the console right?

If I had those I'd make a section of a console which shows 2 sunken boxes covered by clear acrylic, and a keypad between them. Its like you need to enter a code using the keypad so the cover would open to allow access to the keys.

None. Like I said; it was an old run.

I've considered doing another run but that would need to be discussed in a different thread.

Titanium is rather costly, anyway. Even in stainless the keys weren't cheap.

I'll give it some thought. Kinda just focusing on a cool display right now.

Thanks!

Cool Keys,

Have any left???

It figures you would do a run of these! :lol

Great work as always!!!!!

I tried a set in aluminum and didn't care for the finish or feel. They just didn't have the heft of steel or the look of titanium. The run was for die-hard collectors so they had to be rather bang-on.

I wouldn't even bother with resin.

Thanks for the input, though. :thumbsup

You could always cast them in resin, or do them in aluminium.

Some combination of the following pieces?

Actual American launch panel.

Model rocketry launch panel... the protected switches would make a nice addition and maybe the LED counters?

Kind of cool... I think it's just a toy.

My friend has one of these, its actually a (4?) slot USB Hub. You turn the key and it flashes a bunch, thats about it. Looks scary on a desk though...
