So I'm looking to start a Bucket Collection

I've been a saber collector for the past few years and have reached a point where I have most of the styles and editions I want and have started to lose interest. So naturally I need to spend my cash on something and I've decided SW helmets sounds like a worthy endeavor.

Where is a good starting point, I'm on a budget and wouldn't want to spend over 150 - 200 for my first few additions to the collection. :ninja

i gotta think that it's hard to buy a sw helmet of good quality for 100-200 each. Helmets are a whole new world -and a whole new animal - good luck.

I saw saw some x-wing helmets in the junkyard recently - don't know if they're still available - but the DP x-wing helmet looked nice -and someone else was selling a aph helmet (size small) which i guess you could convert to a x-wing helmet.

Gino is also selling his trooper helmet kits - (albeit for more than your budget listed)

That might be a good place to start.


I personally started with Vader (and man what a ride that was) - and then branched over to boba fett and troopers... next I'll try and find an x-wing helmet..

The only option in that price range would be the MR ANH helmet off the secondary market.

Are you looking for officially licensed for certain? 'cause on thedentedhelmet there are some slick Fett helmets to be snagged in your price range, if you can paint.

Are you looking for kits or already completed helmets? You can usually get kits in the price range you stated. I made a gunner helmet, currently working on a stormtrooper one, and my gf is making a scout helmet. Hers is the most expensive of the kits since it's fiberglassed from a mold.

For kits, you should be able to find some Fett and clone stuff in that range pretty easily. Feel free to PM for specifics.

You'll have to trim / sand / paint / etc.. though.

When I've sold finished helmets they've always been in the $300 - $600 range, depending on what it is and how much work went into it.

I am looking more into the completed helmet range, and I'm not partial to licensed or otherwise. I'm not great at painting but sanding and preping aren't a problem for me.

finished helmets in the 150 - 200 range are going to be rare.

the Master Replicas Collectors Edition Stormtrooper helmet may fall into that if you can find one. it's not a fantastic helmet for display... it's not BAD, but it's got some goofy seams that hurt the look. eFX is relaunching those helmets, but they look so far to still have the goofy seam on the face.

otherwise, you'll have to just get lucky and find sales when people need to get rid of stuff / get cash quick.
