Snake Eyes Armor Costume G.I. Joe: Retaliation update armor done!

I finally got some pics of me in my Snake Eyes from Retaliation. I've been working on this on & off for over a year now. It's been difficult finding time to work on this, as real life keeps getting in the way, but I finally got this one about finished. There are a few small details I need to still fix, but it's about 99% done! THANKS to Maulfett for the AWESOME helmet! This wouldn't have happened without this GREAT lid! Enjoy the pics!:cool

Very nice, sir! Good on you to bring it out of retirement, always good to have more Snake Eyes out!

So, I've got a question for everybody - anyone have a preferred trick for keeping their inconveniently-short jacket tucked in & secured? I was jumping around recently for a shoot and it just would not cooperate for me....

Sorry old thread...but
Vaderjeff1744, who made the top/armor?

Maulfett, do you still make the armor?

Enayce, sorry for the long delayed response. My suit is primarily from UD Replicas, the helmet is by MaulFett, the sword is a limited edition by United Cutlery, & the rest of the soft parts is custom made by my seamstress. Hope this clarifies most of the pieces for everyone.:cool

Vaderjeff1744 thanks for the pic . They help me with my sword holsters. Aetherdeus in the marine corp we use these to keep our shirts in. Its kinda uncomfortable but I think it will WORk. I'm glad you said something. I did not think about that.

The swords I made from PVC pipe. I saw a video on YouTube and decided to try it. You have to give up on some detaile but I they came out OK. I am going to repaint to silver and black.I believe the short sword is all black with a wooden handle so I'll try that to. Its cheap to make and kinda fun to try.

Ooh, good idea wliiam33, I'll give those a shot! They should work in a pinch, at least for light duty wear. The UD jacket, inconveniently, has the same issue as a lot of moto jackets - it includes a zipper to let you zip it to moto pants, but they don't give you the other half of the zipper and the pants don't have a zipper either, even though they match.

Aetherdeus, with regards to your jacket not staying tucked inside your pants, my seamstress solved that problem for me. She sewed industrial strength Velcro on the lower part of the outside of the jacket on the front, sides and back. She then sewed matching Velcro on the inside of my pants. All I have to do is line the Velcro up and adhere it to itself, & I am good to go! There's actually quite a bit of extra material that's on the bottom of the jacket that's not supposed to be visible once the pants are done up. My seamstress & I used my 1/6 scale Hot Toys figure for reference when we were working on various details of my suit. I don't have pics presently of the Velcro placement on my suit, but can probably take some if people really want or need to see it. Wliiam33's idea is also another possible solution, if you don't want to have to alter your jacket and pants by adding Velcro, & may work equally as well. I didn't mind the alteration on my suit, as it's easily removed if I ever decide I don't like it. Hope this helps in some small way!:cool
