Smithsonian exhibit... did anyone else make it to this back in the day?

I was fortunate enough to see this in 1997 at the Smithsonian air & space museum. They wouldn't allow cameras, but I remember a highlight for me was seeing the hero Falcon, and inspecting from 6 inches away. the 6 circular grilles on the back all had fans for cooling the halogen lighting. The Jabba puppet was amazing to see up close as well.

I'm guessing that a large portion of members past and present attended this exhibit in its various incarnations. It went on the road after the Smithsonian and new materials from the prequel films were added. And I was allowed to take pix both times I went.

I've got tons of old disposable camera pics from the 97 DC exhibit. Such a blast! Saw the Boston exhibit too :)

I got to see it, too. It was a great exhibit and I burned thru about
four rolls of film on my wife's old SLR camera.

didn't allow cameras? I went in 1997 and took all kinds of pics without problems. sadly the photos are all lost in a box somewhere in my house. :D

I saw it in los angeles also, i had taken several photos on my phone but never downloaded them, that was several phones ago

Geez it was so long ago, maybe I'm remembering wrong. I know I went with my live-in GF at the time, and we have been broken up for over 15 years. All I ended up with was an armoire. ;)

Who knows, perhaps she has a box of photos somewhere.

Not only went, but went to the Lucas, Murren talk the day before it opened. Still have the program somewhere.
