Slave Leias - Why so many 'Mystery Leias'?

Hi everyone,

I was browsing www.leiasmetalbikini.com tonight, and it occured to me that, not only are some of the costumes super-accurate.... but it's the overall apperaance of the wearer that 'makes it' look right....

Please, this is not a 'perve-a-thon', and although some blonde-haired blue-eyed Slave Leias are extremely attractive... the just don't look like Carrie Fisher in ROTJ :unsure

My personal favourie happens to be a 'mystery Leia' :

Why she looks so glum is a mystery in itself... to me, she's a 'dead-ringer' for Princess Leia in the Slave Girl sequence in ROTJ... and she's also drop dead gorgeous to boot :love

Seems like a lot of the more accurate Slave Leias are listed as 'Mystery Leias'.... which seems strange as you'd think they would be proud of their costuming achievments.
Like a Vader costumer who spends $3,000 and 2 years putting together a super-accurate costume only to remain.... anonymous :confused
Maybe it's because they don't want any unwanted attention from admirers / stalkers! LOL

Anyways, I reckon she's got 'the look' and is obviously hot as hell! Does anyone know any 'Mystery Slave Leias' in their Garrison / Costuming Group who could ID them (assuming they want to go public of course) on leiasmetalbikini.com ?

I think they just came across the photo from somewhere else and hope the person comes forward to let them know who it is.

Hmm...it's been a long while since I checked that site out (like...yesterday? :lol )...many new ones...ok force me to look through it again. :love

I like Jennifer....Nyla.....Chels (yikes!)...Stacy....but oh....SARAH and OLIVIA. :love

First thought that pops into my head is, "If they wanted to go public, they probably wouldn't be anonymous to begin with."

Hehe... my point being, there are some very attractive ladies on there with short, red hair or whatever, but they just don't have 'the look' :(

Sarah and Olivia also have 'the look'... haven't seen the others you mentioned, but on a serious note - it's a difficult costume to get right, since there's so little riding on the actual costume IMO... it has more to do with the overall look.

The Mystery Leia I posted has a costume that has flaws in certain areas, but she just looks so 'right' as Slave Leia... in fact, I'd prefer to see her in an accurate Leia Hoth costume with the TESB braided hair :love

But there are so many active SW costuming groups (especially in the US) that I figured most Mystery Leias could be identified... unless there were just Haloween costume that someone snapped (ie. they aren't true Star Wars geek-chicks :lol)

PS - I was watching 'From Star Wars to Jedi : The Making of a Saga' last night on VHS which has footage of Carrie on-set at Elstree in 1982, which kinda prompted me to visit leiasmetalbikini.com - I promise I don't visit that site every single day! LOL
 
I think part of being a 'Mystery' Leia is not having stalkers.

I was talking to Christy at SDCC a few years ago right after a kid (early 20's) was showing her the Kodak photobook he had made of nothing but pictures of her and asked her to autograph it. She told me she did it to be nice, because he's never done anything too weird (yet), and because she didn't want a stalker.

I recognized the guy while browsing photos on Flickr and checked out his photostream. 2 categories: him with Slave Leia's from different Sci-fi Cons and him with different Porn stars from Adult Entertainment Cons.

Damn... that *is* a lil' bit creepy.... may have been innnocent enough, but if I were in her shoes I'd definitely feel a lil' bit uneasy :(

That's Victoria, local to the San Diego/LA area. Real nice girl, great Jaina Solo/X-Wing Pilot costume too, amongst others.

And that costume is kinda shabby. Did she cut the material with a kitchen knife? :lol And the bikini top is all... twisted. :confused

Egad, I can't believe how much Christy has grown. Her Mom used to drive her up to Vegas to troop with us back when she was still in school.

I feel old.
 
How long has this whole Leia/Slave cult business been going on?

I really haven't been that aware of the whole Star Wars cosplay business for much longer than the past 3-4 years. It didn't really seem to hit me people were dressing up as characters from the movies until after the second prequel came out.

Th Slave Leia has to be without a doubt one of the most uncomfortable costumes to wear in public! It leaves very little to the imagination, and the girls have to be in tremendously good shape to wear it. :confused


Sure, some of them look more like Carrie Fisher than others :love , but I've always kind of thought you had to have an exhibitionist streak to cosplay...

Most people still wonder :confused why people do it.

Yep I have seen better Slave Leia costumes... but to *me* anyways, this lady has 'the look' right.... with a better costume she'd look even better. :thumbsup

In fact, although I'm eternally in love with Star Wars-era Carrie Fisher, she looked kinda gaunt in some of the scenes in ROTJ. Maybe she lost a whole lot of weight when the costume dept. first showed her the 'gold bikini'!

Most Slave Leia costumers are in great shape, without looking *too skinny* - and I agree, it must take a very confident woman to wear such a revealing costume at a convention / Halloween party etc. :)
