The run up to Wonderfest is always frantic. Here’s a sneak peek of my studio Red 5 and Skyhopper. The Skyhopper is an imminent greeblie pack set from Masterpiece Models, so you will be able to build the prop as seen on screen, or like I just did… more soon!

Thanks!!

(Wanted to make sure this was show-able before I show it, as it’s seismic). Okay, so did you know that the missing shells from the Hero Luke Red 5 X-Wing miniature still existed as intact halves when they were, for whatever reason, separated from the wings/armature/cockpit? I have seen photos and those are what I used as a guide to scribe panel lines and add the chip panels.

Would it blow your mind to learn that castings were made at some point? Or that uhhhh they worked their way to some deeply earnest guy in Baltimore? The best thing is how close I got with this replica build just from pics. Comparing it to a casting off the real deal is indescribably gratifying. Got a couple small things wrong, but not too shabby! More importantly is how it once again confirms the hull dimensions that Josh Maruska and André Bustanoby concluded were “right”.

Wow, this is nuts. Bottom mount is a post film replacement and the bottom’s nose seems longer but it would slightly socket into the nose mount plug thing.

So screwy- saw your post and was going to write that I so wish that accurate resin X-es could be got right now, and esp that they could be got with the correct fuselage contour at its cross-section points. Wow, and double wow. I haven't been to the archive since I left in '13, but there is quite a bit that is in the off-site locations as well, though they tend to be larger pieces and full size. Still, if they would bother to open some of the damn trunks/cases that some things found their way into, cripes... but I rant and digress. Beautiful, always a pleasure to see your posts.

Glad these castings found their way to you Jason. Yet again, very impressed with what you, Andre and Joshua have done with this. Amongst other things...

Shaping up to be some Wonderfest. Pictures please guys for those unable to make it!

Cheers,

Your lights aren't twinkling, Clark...

Awesome work!

What a beautiful model of the Skyhopper! Unfortunately my trained CSI (25 yrs) eyes spotted two patent finger prints on the right canopy frame. They are so clear I could ID the doer without problem.

Great job on the Paint. Nice work Jason.

Good looking photos too. Thanks for sharing them.
