Skele-gro Bottle

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking this site for a while. I really am amazed by everyones skills. I thought I would challenge myself, and hopefully help the community with this project.

I am not really sure of the size it is suppose to be, so here is a pdf you can open in illustrator and figure out the scale. I hope it helps.

Fonts used : Steelfish Regular, Grant Antique Normal, and I hand drew the "SKELE-GLO" in Illustrator.

Enjoy,

Scott

Nicely done!
How'd you figure out what was in the neck of the bottle?? I've been going nuts trying to find a shot of it?!?!?

omg you are right, i had it winkus, I noticed it was spelled wrong. So i added the other "i" at 2am, and put it in the wrong spot. And for the neck, i used the image Contec posted. Just zoomed into the neck with photoshop.

here are fixed files...

And new PDF...

Nice! Might have to beg you to use that!!
The back's finished, and I've got the front all sketched out in clay (I'm using a cheap, non-sulfer based, store bought clay BTW).

I'll need to do some more smoothing and simplyfying on the back, and will move on from there.
Enjoy!

That is looking great! Go ahead and use it, I really made it for anyone to use. I just wanted a little challenge to see if I could recreate it. if you can't scale it, tell me what how high you want the skele-gro logo, and I will scale the whole thing down to fit your project.'

@thevictim- thanks for the offer, I'll PM you to talk more indetail about it!

Got the back all smoothed out and primed for casting . . .

and got the front done as well . . .

I added a nice texture to the bottom portion, giveing it a pottery wheel look, and caught that the front had a bit of a belly where the two halves meet.
I've also got a piece of PVC for the neck of the bottle, then onto the arms in the next few days, and then finally the head and neck/spine.
Interest thread in the JY in a few days ;)

I am soooo impressed. You are doing such a great job!!! This has been a prop that I have been wanting for a really long time. It is very exciting watching you pull it all together. Thanks so much for sharing your progress.

Thanks guys! Took a few days off, but am right back on it. Got the neck ready, as well as the collar bones, and am getting ready to get the 'skele-grow' logo on the bottle(so I can gold foil the letters, then decal black over the gold). I've also started the head and arms, but not quite ready to show those off.

Thanks!

Thanks to the art provided, i was able to cut some vinyl and lay the raised logos directly onto the clay.
Here's a fuzzy shot of the neck. More to come shortly.

Still plugging away on this prop. Casting the main bottle this weekend, so I have a solid piece to sculpt and work the arms on.

Torn on if the head should be removable or attached. Sculpting and casting the three vertebre will be a pain . . . .

You have done a fabulous job with this prop so far. I'm sure whatever you decide will be wonderful. Who knows if the actual prop people were able to make a removable head that would go in and out of the bottle. I will have to rewatch the movie to see if we actually see it coming out or going in. Maybe the only shots were either the complete bottle all together or the bottle with the head stopper off. Dobby was wacking himself pretty hard with that bottle and the stopper never came out (I know that part was CG but) you never know. Movies often have several of one prop depending on the shot they need. Just a thought. :confused

I really like what you are doing here! I'm a bit surprised no one has attempted to make one before actually, so seeing this is really fun! You have such amazing skill as well, that is pretty clear. I can't wait to see the finished result!
