Here is the second, torn version of George's note to Juliette:

note2-bg.jpg

This is based on a 4K screenshot captured directly from the show.

Silo S01E02 [Holston's Pick] - EniaHD.mkv_snapshot_27.38_[2024.07.24_19.48.34].jpg Silo S01E02 [Holston's Pick] - EniaHD.mkv_snapshot_27.47_[2024.07.24_15.57.56].jpg

I estimated the paper to be about 4-1/2" in width.
I put the background in there in order to help blend the text background without losing text fidelity. It should be printed on white paper and then torn.

PXL_20240725_053509339.jpg

This was the best I could do with no background...any further blending to white and the letters started to get too hard to read.

In anticipation for Season 2, here are some paper props I did a couple of months ago. Everything was made from scratch (except the drawing of the mayor) with close to/accurate fonts, redrawn logos and everything hand written.

Holston's flowers note:
Image3.png Holston's Flowers Note Full.png Holston's Flowers Note Torn Out.png
Image4.png Holston's Flowers Note Variant 1.png
Image67.png Holston's Flowers Note Variant 2.png
Full version is 163 x 130 mm, while the thorn out is 160 x 130 mm. Variant 1 is 130 x 158 mm and variant 2 is 129 x 150 mm.

Holston's note to Marnes:
Image7.png Image34.png Image35.png Holston's Note Back.png Holston's Note Front.png
This is sized 169 x 130 mm.

George's note to Juliette:
Image39.png George's Note to Juliette Full.png George's Note to Juliette Top Half.png George's Note to Juliette Bottom Half.png
This is the only full variant and is made as 163 x 130 mm; the variants of the top and bottom halves are not shown on screen, but made them for fun.

Variants of the top and lower halves:
Image41.png George's Note to Juliette Top Half Variant.png
Image47.png George's Note to Juliette Bottom Half Variant 1.png
Image53.png George's Note to Juliette Bottom Half Variant 2.png
Top half is 130 x 81 mm, bottom half v1 is 130 x 115 mm and v2 is 130 x 111 mm.

New occupant card:
Image66.png New Occupant Notice.png
This should be fold in half; fully opened measures 190 x 130 mm.

Young Juliette's fake letter to Walker:

Image72.png Juliette's False Letter to Walker.png
Made as standard LTR or 280 x 216 mm.

The Pact rule book:
Image97.png Image95.png Image316.png 438097655_1173816053594706_3187124667919105744_n.jpg 412943522_18406037176020090_3318488749805441573_n_2.jpg The Pact Cover.png The Pact Content.png The Pact Articles 3-13.png
The book was made by Philippa Broadhurst (among other goodies), one of the prop makers from the show. She posted some variants of the Pact book cover and the 1st page on her facebook page: The pages with the articles were 98% deciphered by Megaton with help from the reddit community (I just filled in the missing words):
The full cover is 272 x 200 mm, while the individual pages are 200 x 125 mm.

Marnes' drawing of mayor Jahns:
Image62.png Image71.png Image102.png Image106.png Image111.png 422625057_18412405327020090_3441305060323572494_n.jpg Deputy Station Weekly Report Back.png Deputy Station Weekly Report.png
The drawing was also made by Philippa Broadhurst (but some of the details were replaced with doodles or words):
This should print at 268 x 193 mm.

Walker's note to Juliette:
Image328.png Walker's Note to Juliette.png
Made as 180 x 50 mm.

The next post(s) will be an explosive one...

Updated the above post with the 2 variants of Holston's flowers notes. Tomorrow, I hope to post about the teaser.

The first time I saw the Amazing Adventures in Georgia book, I thought it was an existing book used for the show; but as soon as I started looking for it, I learned that it was specially designed for the show by the talented Philippa Broadhurst:

After I did a lot of digging and searching, I have found all the images, most of the fonts, some of the pictograms and texts used in all the visible pages from the book; I have even found some images and texts from pages that are partially visible or for only a couple of frames. Some of the texts were filled in using online sources, while parts of the pages that I haven't identified yet (possibly because they were custom made by Philippa) I had to recreate myself.

The cover (front and back):
Image134.png Image266.png Image291.png Amazing Georgia Book Cover.png

The front cover was pretty simple, except the obvious aquarium scene in GEORGIA and the rusted/eroded effect in ADVENTURES and the circular stamp. The eroded effect is not accurate, but will do for now, the big problem was finding the aquarium scene, which I did:
pp6gfd.jpg

The text on the back cover is not fully visible, so I had to guesstimate the missing info; and used this image to decipher all the areas in the Georgia map:
GAecoregionRev2.png

Everything you see was made from scratch, except the aquarium scene. Made the full cover as 471 x 287 mm.

Inside front cover:
Image167.png Image197.png Amazing Georgia Book Inner Front Page.png

As usual, the names were hand written in CorelDRAW; this should print as 219 x 279 mm.

Last page:
Image193.png Image193_2.png Image194.png Image194_2.png Amazing Georgia Book Last Page.png

This particular font is called Gilbert Color, but the color effect is only visible in Adobe products (like Photoshop and Illustrator), so I did all the text in Photoshop, then exported it as PNG and re-vectorized it in CorelDRAW. This, just like all the pages is sized as 219 x 279 mm.

Beach photo:
Image153.png Image239.png Image269.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 42-43.png

Initially I had negative results searching it with Google Lens, but after days of frustrated searches I have found the original image, which is in fact captioned View from dune top over sunset in North Sea from the island of Ameland, Friesland, Netherlands. The full image should print at 439 x 279 mm.

This post concludes the cover and pages shared as good/ hi-res images. For obvious reasons, the rest of the pages will be low-res, but good enough to admire them.

I will post the pages as they appear in the show, be that a fully visible/partially blocked page or just glimpses of pages.

Pages 10-11 (glimpse - incomplete):
Image208.png Image208_2.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 10-11.png

The image is a placeholder and as the text says in the left lower corner is of Mount Mitchell.

Pages 12-13 (90% visible):
Image137.png Image140.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 12-13.png

The left lower corner logos/symbols on all pages were made from scratch. Just like the beach photo, this is also 439 x 279 mm in size.

Pages 14-15 (90% visible):
Image142.png Image145.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 14-15.png

The text on the upper left corner was taken from online sources in lack of info, the font for the word WILD is a placeholder because I haven't found it (the design might be custom made?). The green animal silhouettes were redrawn in lack of resources and to my surprise, I have found all the animal photos, except the one with the Gulf Fritillary butterfly (used one that looked close to the one from the book); after I looked at hundreds of photos with this type of butterfly (here's a link in case you think you have more luck ==> Photos of Gulf Fritillary (Dione vanillae) · iNaturalist - you'll have to scroll down and wait for the next batch of images to load; there are lots of loading photos!)

Pages with aquarium map and dolphins:
Image146.png Image147.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Dolphins.png

The missing text was taken from online sources. The left page depicts a stylized map of the Georgia Aquarium probably made by Philippa:
Map.png download 2.png

Pages 40-41 (98% visible):
Image149.png Image151.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 40-41.png

All the shell drawings were made from scratch along with the stylized waves. The nautilus shell section was enhanced in Topaz Photo AI after it was reconstructed from several screencaps, then I added a generic sand background and generated the shadow.

Pages 42-43 (fully visible):
Image152.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 42-43.png

Science Space Center pages (90% visible):
Image203.png Image204.png Image205.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Space.png

The pictograms with the constellation was a pretty easy find, but the ones with the horoscope signs was a dead end until I redraw the 3 visible ones:
Horoscope Signs 2.png
then I used my drawing with Google Lens and found the original ones:
istockphoto-1339445359-2048x2048.jpg

Pages 44-45 (partially visible):
Image284.png Image284_2.png Image270.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 44-45.png

The image on the left page is a placeholder and the text was mostly guesstimated. To be accurate, I had to remove the sky on the image from the right side page and most of the text was from online sources with some modifications made to match the visible words..

Pages 46-47 (90% visible):
Image274.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 46-47.png

Finding the buildings silhouette was an easy task, but adding all the colored shapes was another story.

Jekyll Island page (partially visible):
Image282.png Image282_2.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Jekyll Island.png

Text taken from online sources and the photo is a placeholder.

Girl and dolphin page (partially visible):
Image286.png Image286_2.png Image287.png Image287_2.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Girl & Dolphin.png

I found this photo by searching for dolphin caretaker standing in water.

The right side page is the one that Billings tore out from the book and because it is a potential spoiler for season 2 I will add it to the next post.

While it is no secret, because it was shown on screen, here is the page (front and back) torn by Billings from the book:
Image295.png Image319.png Image295_2.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Sea Animals.png
The top half of the page depicts several marine animals; most of these animal silhouettes (i found them online) were used in the Georgia Aquarium map too. The lower half is not visible.
Image299.png Image302.png Image320.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Go Explore.png
The full text was taken from several, different screenshots.

This ends the presentation of the book cover and the visible pages.

Have fun!

Thanks for the kind words! This was a labor of love for me.

I've posted several fake books I did (Highlander, What About Bob, National Treasure and so on) where you can see how I did the hard covers, but for binding a book you'll have to search online.

This is a divine work!
And I really liked the series, even despite the drawn-out second season (I didn't read the book, I read them after watching the movie).

Thank you for your work and for sharing!

Thanks for the kind words!

My only gripe is that the page Billings torns from the Adventures book (quick jump to post #8 ==> Silo (Apple TV+))
Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg Sea Animals.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Go Explore.png

is not quite the same with what we see in season 2 (the back is the same - recently realized that it reads GEORGIA vertically):
Image356.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Go Explore.png

Image365.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Blue Ridge LR.png

I found the photo of the mountain, but I had to redraw the map with flag and the badge. The top text is a partial decoding from the screenshot, the middle portion was taken from various sources from the internet, while the lower part is from season 1:
Image208.png Image208_2.png Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 10-11.png

Page 10 (the left side) is actually the one with the Blue Ridge Mountains we see in season 2, while page 11 (right side) is now obsolete.

From season 1 I wanted to do those awesomely folded messages transported by the porters between the levels, but luckily with season 2 we have a clear image of unfolded messages and fully folded messages:
Image416.png

After some testing, here are 2 of the messages from the above screencap:
Impeachment Message Inside.png Impeachment Message Front.png Large Group Message Inside.png Large Group Message Front.png
The back of the messages should be printed flipped horizontally (if you look at the message in front of a light, the back should be upside down) I made the message 200 x 71 mm.
And some instructions on how to fold the messages:
Message Folding Instructions v1.png

I will do the other messages too from both seasons.

In the scene where Billings holds a message for Juliette (from Ellis of recycling) we can clearly see that the end of the folded message is not tuck inside the folded page, but it is folded to the back of the message (it is an easier, stress free method):
Image446.png Image446_2.png Message Folding Instructions v2.png
I added the updated instructions, but also left the other one in the previous post. Also did some minor changes in the messages, so all files were updated in the aforementioned post.

Two more messages from season 1:
Image90.png Sims Message Inside.png Sims Message Front.png
Image119.png Ellis Message Inside.png Ellis Message Front.png
We know that the Sheriff Department is on Level 1, but not the exact address, so I put it number 1.

Redid the back of mayor Jahns' drawing (the Deputy Station Weekly Report form):
Deputy Station Weekly Report v2.png
The changes consist in the reduced number of columns at the Code line (now accurate to what we can see in that scene), but also added the Form and a made up number on the top right corner.

Four months ago (I only find it yesterday), Philippa Broadhurst added a new post on her facebook page with an early mockup of the Amazing Adventures in Georgia book

This helped me to correct the text and some of the numbers from the barcode on the back cover, also rewrite the text of the Blue Ridge Mountains page, add the GEORGIA white highlight on the Go Explore... page and finally to add the 1st page with the published and copyright info:
Amazing Georgia Book Cover.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Blue Ridge LR.png Amazing Georgia Book Pg Go Explore.png Amazing Georgia Book 1st Pg .png

She also re-posted the portrait of mayor Jahns, but this time it is a better resolution, so I redid that page too:

Seeing that Philippa took most of the images from iStock, I said to myself that maybe I'm in luck finding the Gulf Fritillary image, the one that I haven't found yet, and after looking at 17 pages from 28...
Image175_3.png istockphoto-1325393436-2048x2048.jpg Amazing Georgia Book LR Pg 14-15.png

Image417.png Image418.png 4 Mechanicals Note.png
Around 170 x 120 mm

Image423.png IT LIes Message.png IT LIes Message Instructions.png
Made as 280 x 37 mm. There are 2 dotted lines where you should tear the paper and form a circle by inserting the teared sides.

Image434.png Image435.png Safeguard Procedure.png
Should print at 160 x 99 mm.
