Good grief Lee...I wish I had an ounce of your artistic talent. That skin is going to look amazing...you can alreay tell. Did you do the veins with an AB as well or something else? You are making me seriously rethink how I would do my own skin...just when I thought I had a plan....oh well.  :D

Steve

Well, me too would like to have such talent. Great to see the torso coming to life...  :D

KEEP IT GOING!   (y)

Steve,
Seriously dude, your bio is something that would drive me up the wall if I had to attempt it, you obviously have immense talent sir.
the undertones were done by stippling with a brush, then some blending with a airbrush, but the veins were all done with a airbrush , there are quite a few smaller ones but its hard to see them in the photo.
I did a time lapse video, but I look like crap so I decided not to post it lol.
Don't you need to do a backpack Steve :D

Thanks for the comments again guys

I didn't have a chance to post on this topic the other day when you linked me.

I am glad this is such a huge success. I don't understand why anyone would doubt this? Maybe they don't now what they are talking about. Well obviously they don't because it WORKED.

The skin looks so comfortable! Must feel like a giant thick under armor skin. Imagine is you ran clear thin tubes like veins through the body? You could then paint the skin in those area opaque and pump some green blood through there! You could put bladders in certain areas and make the skin puff up. This it new exciting territory, I am glad you were the one to do it Lee.

You a doing a good match job on the paint. I can see the brown tones on both are very similar is not the same.

question? Is there a time limit after casting the skin when you would be able to apply paint?
Or is it like latex where you can paint it years later if you want.
I seem to remember you saying it was a time sensitive thing...

anyway, take a video of you moving around in it, flexing, bending, twisting. I am itching to see it in motion!

Thanks Genes lol.

MeanGene. I think I read or was told silicone should be painted ideally in the 1st 7 days of it being pulled from the mould. however I did not paint the hand I have for about a month and it was fine, but I do not want to take the risk really.

it will crease it certain place due to it not being cast onto my body shape, but it is very comfy to wear and feel much easier to move in than latex. ill get a quick video made when I have it painted hopefully in the next 7 days.

Thanks Lee....In some respects maybe it did drive me a little crazy...  I am half way through my dreads project and then I will be on to a backpack and armor. I absolutely must learn more about making a suit from silicone...you have inspired me. I can tell I am going to have to learn to sculpt with clay...all in due time though I guess.

Steve

Steve, the medipack/backpack will be a awesome if the P1 bio is anything to go by, and I would obviously love one for my silicone P1 suit. :p

Hey lee.
Will poping over again soon for a suit fit if that's ok ;-)
Serious tho mate I'm glad to see your "mojo" has kicked back in,hope all is well bck home dude might take wife for drive up your side soon..

Jim.

Looks wonderful Lee, starting to look very alive.

Now I have no real idea how stretchy silicone is, but if you can easily get it on thats great. But what about when you start sweating like a mofo? I would be concerned of the torso being sticky and unpleasant and when you want to take it off for a break you'd have the hassle of taking it off and getting all your lovely sweat all over your face.

I would think adding something like a zipper would make it easier on ya when you want or need to quickly take it off. But its just a thought ^^

Well I thought I said above, Its VERY stretchy.
I have a rash vest/under armour underneath and if I was worried about sweating I wouldn't build a costume like this. It will be no hotter than latex, again said above I thought.
As for the zip id rather get sweat in my face,  than have a big zip going down the back ruining the effect. I guess you don't have that option in latex though.

It's all up to you of course ^^ You could be clever and find ways of covering the zipper but I bet it will look, and it already does, more life like without a zipper ;)  One of these days I'll have to try Silicone out if it's that stretchy  :p

Well you can see from the photos of it on me it must be stretchy for the waist to go over my shoulders and chest.

The colors are simply stunning. The FuseFX seem to be well worth the cost with how they look. But yea, bookmarked your thread and going to start on one. Too inspirational! Keep up the great work!

man that's pretty...real pretty.

have you thought of a some sort cooling system for the piece?...
No idea on cooling as yet Drew, it fits very well in most places, so im not sure I may just sew some pockets on under armour and stuff them with ice cubes lol.

Yeah I love the system, do not like the price, but it does what it says on the tin haha.
