Hiya gang! Been a while since I started a new project for myself, and I just had to show it off!
Since I've been watching waaayyy too many Jeff Dunham specials, and about anything I can find on YouTube . . .I've finally been inspired to get one of his puppets going.
The first inspiration was learning of the RPF's connection to the real puppets, while the oddest inspiration was that I picked up; completly on accident, a Halloween skeleton from Wal-Mart that bears an eerie resemblance to Achmed the Dead terrorist's body! After hearing the joke that Walter said he was a halloween decoration . . .I finally cracked and started sculpting.
It's been a fun project so far;with only 10 bucks and three quick nights of scuplting in the bag. It's also a great excuse to watch some more of Dunham, who seems to convince me everytime that the puppets are alive.
I'm also boneing up (HA!) on my sculpting skills, before I dive into the Jurassic Park NVG's.
The upper head is mostly done, with only tweaking and smoothing to be done (I'll add texture in paint). The lower jaw is pretty much slapped on at this point, and will be worked on through the weekend. I hope to be in silicone by Tuesday!!
I'm thinking I'll cast it hollow in some of Smooth On's roto resin, for strength. I'll post some pics of the body once I crank up the dremel.
I'll also be doing new eyes, which will be 3/4 spheres, so they can sit deep in the sockets. Right now I've got those on there for spacing.
Enjoy and follow along! If you dont' . . .I KEEL YOU!!!
