12-27 UPDATE

I fixed my computer mostly and I am back online.

I have received the machined parts and will have everyone's orders "binned" by the end of the week.

Corellian Exports has plenty of the resin greeblies cast and should be shipping them to me soon

SO I should be able to start shipping orders that do not include a mauser or scope next week.

The mausers and scopes will be shipped to the shop next week (at their request) and the mausers will be the first item they machine and return to me.



I do have extra machined parts kits and Think Jedi made extra scopes. I'm going to order 5 more mausers today

If there is an opportunity to get a kit form my last run.

Based on the current requests this run is a go!!!!!!

I will ask ThinkJedi to proceed with his part of the project.

I am still accepting requests and will do so until I start I place my parts order with the shop.

I need everyone that sends me a request to be specific with the parts they want, especially for the scope since there are 2 types of Light Sockets and 2 types of Bolts.

Think Jedi is ready and willing to cast up to 50 M-19 scopes so I’m thinking about doing a limited run of ESB Luke/Han Bespin Blasters

ACCURIZED BESPIN MAUSER > $155

The accurized mauser included the following

• Denix Logo Removed
• All 5 pockets are milled
• An extractor is milled into the bolt
• The magazine plate details are milled into the bottom of the mag well
• The grips are modified for Brass escutcheon cups and a brass bolt

The machined areas of the Denix will be raw metal and the the accurate brass grip hardware is not as tight as the factory screw the the grip can be secured with a little bit of hot glued internally.

  • mill light socket area
  • mill both ends for threaded scope rings/lenses

• $85 – $100 > Machined Parts Kit
  • Front lens threaded brass scope ring
  • Rear lens threaded brass scope ring
  • Notched or Full Ring Light Socket
  • 2 steel machined scope bolts Thin or Thick Head with black oxide coating
  • Front and rear lens with o-ring if required

I will epoxy the light socket in place and assemble the scope but painting is not included. That will be part of the optional labor services offered during the shipping phase

05-10-2017 BRONZE CAST PARTS UPDATE​

Here is an email Thinkjedi sent to me to be sent me to be posted. When you email Thinjedi be sure to include the following info:

That way I will be able to reconcile my list of names with his. The last time there were a couple odd situations where it didn’t match for reasons that could not be explained easily

Scope and Piston bronze castings:

I’ll be doing both bronze M19 scope casts as well as bronze piston casts. This is a 2-stage process. The first stage is pouring the bucks in wax. The second stage is having the foundry do the bronze casts. I expect to get 7-10 scope pours done per week and about the same number of pistons. I anticipate a 5-6 week timeline to get waxes ready for the foundry from the time I start casting, sometime next week. The scope castings are by far the most time-consuming and fiddly to do. Unlike casting in resin, I can’t just pop out a cast after a half-hour…it takes most of a day before it’s safe to pull a wax. Once the wax has been pulled from the mold, it typically takes a little cleanup on my part to get it ready for the foundry. Once the casts are taken to the foundry, the turnaround time is typically 3 weeks. Not all casts turn out bronze, so I like to bring in extra waxes to ensure that I'll get them all done.

As I stated in the previous project, castings are not flawless, but they will look great, especially once assembled, painted and weathered. Just don’t expect an “unissued” look to the pistons and scopes because that’s not feasible.

Costs:

- $80 per scope
- $30 per piston set (2 pistons cast as a set)

As Boba Debt stated earlier, this is for the raw casts. He will charge for the machining work necessary to complete the scopes and pistons.

Just some more info from me

I will also send Thinkjedi a list of everyone that wanted raw brass parts once I have closed the project which should be about the middle of June

By about the 3rd week of May I should be able to start the invoicing process for the Machined Parts Kits for the Blasters and the Denix Mausers.

I will not invoice anyone for the machine work needed for the raw brass parts or the machined parts for the scopes until I have the raw parts on hand so by ThinkJedi’s time estimates it will be at least 9-10 weeks before I invoice the group for that phase

05-12-2017 CAST BRONZE PISTON UNIT UPDATE​

Some members of this run have ordered cast bronze piston units from ThinkJedi without indicating that they wanted them in their initial email request to me.

According to TJ, he has orders for 5 piston units.

It would be cost prohibitive for me to have the raw cast piston units clean up by my shop considering that it cost $26 each when we had 66 units for the last run.

Two people asked if they could use the left over ROTJ Pistons from my last run and you could but they are very different from the pistons used on the ESB Blasters.

The ESB Blasters used real or resin copies of the pistons from the Visible V-8 model and the ROTJ used a machined version that only look like the piston from the VV-8 model until you look closely

Here is a picture that compares them, the ESB is on top and the ROTJ is on the bottom

If you want to add the piston unit to the left side of your blaster I recommend the following

• Use real VV-8 model pistons, I will look into buying a model so everyone doesn't have to find one.

• Use resin copies. I have some on hand and during my last run I provided a modified resin piston unit to some members for a cost of $10

• You could pay ThinkJedi to clean up the piston unit by hand (he is working on a price for this)

• We could get Corealian Exports to machine the smaller quantity.

• As a last resort you could use ROTJ pistons. I have some left in aluminum and Delrin. If you wanted the steel disk details on the side like the Hoth version machining the slot in the pistons could be tricky so I would rather grind away half of the steel disk. I did that for one member during my last run.

I'm sure it will take ThinkJedi at least 3-4 months the get the scopes cast so you will not have to cover the entire cost of the parts you want

This run will probably take the rest of the year to complete
