Sideshow/Legacy Life-size 'The Child' figure

Yeah the translucency they got in the face is incredible if its just resin. Youd think theyd make that out of some kind of rubber. Also, to make sure the ears to break in shipping.
Perhaps the ears come detached, then slot in and are magnetized.

Please no rubber or silicone. It will break down eventually. I hope it's a solid statue to last forever. At least until I'm dead.

Case in point the Vader Reveal bust. Anakin looked amazing in the prototype pics and although cool still, the final product did not look as good. The eyes and shadow around the eyes on the final product make the whole thing look far less realistic. The eyes are looking in different directions where the prototype looks like a real guy looking at you.
Not 100% sure on this but I always thought that the lazy eye was accurate? I don’t mean to derail the thread but I remember this being discussed before. It does look weird though. I did find this:

Some concerns about final product matching prototype aside, I ordered. I wonder how many of these things they’ll make...

Preordered one myself! I would have happily paid this much for raw parts. To have a finished one at that price is crazy!

Didn’t see this mentioned, but it’s worth noting that the prototype shown here is silicone. This is not a completely accurate representation of the product we’ll be getting.

I have to say, as the day goes on & I contemplate the coming ire of my lovely bride, I believe my one concern is the hair.

Since the final product will be a hard material, I can only assume that the fuzz will have to be glued on, as I don't see how they could go rooted since it's so sparse & the hair itself is so fine. I'm a bit concerned with how that'll look.

I'm an articulation guy, so this will be my first statue & Sideshow product, so if anyone's ever seen this addressed in any other releases, I'd love to know how they handled it.

Their life size yoda has some kind of silicone or latex covering

Looks great now but 20 years goes by fast.

I owned two Illusive Yodas. I loved them so and now I can't find a good replacement. I am sure there are a few who were very well cared for they are not for sale. I also still have my Illusive Jabba Maquette. I got a very good one and I have taken very good care of him. Despite this he has hardened and tiny cracks have come. He still looks great and you would think he was new just to look at him but I know it's a matter of time before he is gone.

I am so excited for this cute little drain on my wallet and I am thrilled the clothing is cloth but I hope the rest is rock hard material.

I hope they figure it out. I don't want it to look like a statue. I want it to look just like it does in the pics.

If it needs to be silicone or some kind of material that may deteriorate over time I am gonna get a case made for it and have that clear UV blocker film added to it. When I got my car tinted for the kids they included the driver and passenger clear stuff ,as in California we can not have those windows tinted, and I was shocked at what a difference it made.

I mean they can use semi-transparent resin and a good paintjob to get a similar look with the skin and ears, but the hair punching yeah, dunno about that.

The Sideshow site has more pictures than BBTS and they go out of their way to show the actual hair.

I also hope the knob is removable and he can be removed from is base. I like the knob but I would like to have him hold it sometimes and sometimes not but even if it and the base are permanent if they can make him look like the prototype I will be beyond thrilled.

Stupid, dumb, Mandalorian show turned out to be good.:(:p:eek::oops: As if my wallet was not empty enough thanks to Star Wars.

"from the fuzz on its wrinkled head to its irresistible pout, all the way down to its tiny, toddling feet"

Interesting that they dont actually show the feet, lol.

Preordered.
Being only $350 for a 1:1!?! I couldn't pass it up. With it being Sideshow... I don't know how this isn't $500 or higher.

For those who are concerned & new to Sideshow... I have a number of their pieces, & their statues hold up pretty good. & with them partnering with Legacy Effects & this being a limited edition piece (beware on this, however, SS "limiteds" can be limited to 1 for everyone on the planet, OR it can actually be limited to just a few hundred)? This could very easily be one of those "Holy cow! You have one of THOSE?!?" type pieces in the the very near future. & their alien pieces tend to be pretty good too.

Nope totally agree, this is why I don’t own a life size slimmer.. 600-700 bucks and she’s just gonna crack and rot..
