Sideshow/Legacy Life-size 'The Child' figure

He looks a bit chubby in the face somehow...i think that articulated jaw messed up the look. I cancelled mine last week... dont entirely regret it now.

Few things. Yes, the ears seams are awful, no doubt. But he looks more like a plastic toy in this picture, and less realistic. Also, looks less cute then the prior “official” pictures. Hot Toy’s official pictures had me kinda wanted to get him (again). But any new pictures not looking like beautiful promo shots, I’m just kinda “meh”.

Wow yeah that head seems like a thin rubber sleeve over some kind of skeleton for the articulated jaw. Cant see that lasting long... Also those ear magnets dont seem strong enough, they came off super easy.

It also looks like the body isnt fully painted like the limbs, color is right but the color doesnt match where the arms swap out and you can see where the feet pieces stop.

Oh, Facebook, yeah, I don’t do that. I hate it when companies don’t update on their own websites.

I have to admit, the Hot Toys is looking pretty good.

It looks more convincing with the mouth slightly open, but when it’s closed it looks like he has a big overbite. The posability factor looks fun but I’m glad I went with Sideshow.

Yeah i think the problem with the mouth is they gave it locking points, seems theres tightly closed, slightly open and wide open. If it had been more free form, I have a feeling you could get the mouth more naturally closed.

The more I look at the Hot Toys version, the more I like it. Definitely think it has more character in the face, more lively.

So mattel is doing this, I think its full scale, because that looks like an updated version of their plush with hair. Unfortunately they dont list size or price yet.

Just checked the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1.

I know it's a different pricepoint/market but the Mattel head just doesn't look right for anything beyond a toy, so I cant really see why you would pay so much for a release like that.
