I suspect that its the usual BS. They say its a limited edition so people stop thinking and take the plunge in fear not getting one. Then way before they actually sell out they say its sold out and set up a waiting list. This way, people who are unsure if they wanna get it or not feel that "well, Ill just sign up for the waiting list and let fate decide (I can still cancel if I want to)" This way they take mental ownership of the product and prepare to shell out the cash.

I sold cars in the uk for 8 years, the tricks you learn! I worked for a bmw dealer for about a year and was sent on a 4 day training course internally titled (how to manipulate your customer).
Needless to say I got out of that game.
back on topic.
I have seen a thread ob this over on the statue forum and someone there has been in touch with sideshow.
Sideshow said that the reason for the delay was extra quality control procedures had been put in place and the busts are expected to ship in jan 09.

I ordered one of the 12" Iron Man statues from them and they just kept pushing the release date back, when `other` UK retailers had them in stock weeks ago!
So, I cancelled my bust order with play, because I don't want to wait weeks more!

If mine arrives with paint flaws Ill freak out. What is it with Sideshow? Months of waiting and waiting with the release date constantly being pushed back with SS saying its all to insure the quality of the product........not to mention the bloody cost of the thing!!

I think it's funny that how on the advertised picture, there is what looks like a rectangular section for what I would assume would be for a plaque, but on yours that you recieved, I do not see anything like that on there.
