Re: Sideshow Iron Man Life Size Bust

When I looked at the price, I cried. I cried even more when I realised how little effect my salary could if I wanted one. sigh.

its a real pain, they were supposed to start shipping first week of october, now its Jan.

lets hope it doesnt get put back further

they will also be selling a helmet piece by Museum Replicas. Will this be any good? Theres no pictures on the Sideshow website and just one on the Museum Replicas website. says its handformed steel.

I thought i read somewere that this replica was scaled down a bit from 1/1 to keep the reacasters from trying to make a wearable reaplica out if it. Is this true??

with the way its going, its fast approaching 1 year from the date the bust was announced to shipping out.maybe they will have it released in time for the next ironman movie

i think they took the pics down of the metal one cause it looked ****.:unsure

Yep, the metal helmets are terrible! Really really far from the original.
As for the bust, I was thinking about it yesterday and I thought it would so damn easy to make a mold out of the original piece.
Can you imagine? hundreds of Iron man helmets molds around the world...
That would have really made me mad!

I really hope the piece won't be big enough to be wearable, even if I think that someone is going to try to make a recast.

I thought about buying it, but shipping and custom taxes make it impossible for me to get one :(

I have absolutly no doubt some people will mold it and stick em on ebay. i saw a couple of those life size statue heads being sold off a wearable helmets

has anyone actually seen one of these in the flesh, so to speak. im sure they must have been at a convention somewhere.

maybe someone could give us a size indication

I've seen the Sideshow bust AND screen used hero Iron Man suit in person at Comicon this year. It looked life-size to me. I have one on order and hope they didn't shrink it any. For the price we're paying I'll send it back if it's scaled down!

I photographed both. You'll notice on the hero suit that they put the aluminum "collar bones" on the wrong sides, and rotated 90 degrees from the their orientation in the movie. The Sideshow bust has them correct:

At least let's hope that this is the correct orientation :)

thats good news. I really hope i have been misinformed.

as you were lucky enough to see both together, did they have the colours matched on the sideshow?

The Sideshow was a little deeper in red and more of the apple red metallic than the actual. It was the same paint, you could see that, just probably one more layer than the stunt being displayed.

As far as size, the Sideshow was scaled down in my eyes.
