I'm hoping the 2nd film will feel more ominous like the comics... as much as i love the first movie, throwing in Myers as the newbie BPRD recruit/babysitter kind of made it feel a little awkward imo.

I couldn't agree more - I first saw the film, then read the AMAZING comics - simply the best comics I've ever read. Really made me re-think my feelings about the first film. The addition of Myers was WAY too Men In Black for me.

If I remember correctly, they used myers because Del Torro hated the character of Kate Corrigan.

P.S. Hellboy comics and movies rule and I can't wait for my samaritan....pity we couldn't fit the samaritan into my hellboy armsleeve.....

On topic this looks wicked, didn't realise it was metal until someone mentioned - must learn to read descriptions instead of just drooling at pics. :lol

It is an extra $100, but you get a funky stand, light up shells plus normal shells and metal/wood construction! Worth it IMO

So much so I just ordered one.

I make it $399 + sideshow's UK ship quote of $30 multiply by 1.175 to add VAT gives $505 or £250 shipped in the UK.

Well, on mine it said $399 + $22.02 shipping = $422.02. Whatever that is in pounds, i suppose about half. So £250 probably about right.

Dont worry about it, buy it! I havent got any money either...and its not shipping for a while, and they dont charge you till its ready to ship so plenty of time to save. They also have a Flexy pay thing where you can pay in 3 lots.

I'm sure this prop will make you life better, thats what i've told my GF anyway!

IMO, the first film was pitch-perfect. I simply love that movie, and the care and attention Del Torro put into it really shows. I wish OTHER directors and studios could understand what went into Hellboy and apply it to the rubbish that's been heaped on us with regards to comic films.

I've order my Sammy V2, and am eagerly awaiting Sideshow's next big HB2 announcement!!!

Note you guys the description says shipping isn't accurate because it's an oversized item. The HB1 Samaritan shipped at 10 pounds. This one is shipping at 23!!! YAY METAL!!! :thumbsup

Just ordered mine! Like others I had agonized over trying to get the original on Ebay, so glad I waited.

As mentioned in previous posts, do yourself a favor and buy the Hellboy comics. There are softcover editions, but Dark Horse is also releasing deluxe hardcover volumes this year. Also, check out the B.P.R.D. comic, sister series to Hellboy.
