So I got the I Am Legend bug and decided to assemble the rifle. After doing about a month of research, I found all the parts. Currently, I'd say that this is about 90% accurate to the screen used gun.

The most noticeable difference is the quad-rail on the front barrel. This was a real steel part and would have to be retrofitted to my airsoft base gun (a metal body ICS M4). I may still do this but I'm not sure.

Other small differences: the scope is an exact replica of the original ACOG scope (a $1,200 part). The only thing missing are the factory markings -- everything else is exact. Also, the sling is something I assembled from Blackhawk! parts and the clasps look a little off though they are so close I'm sure that the original prop house just had older versions of the clasps.

The xenon laserlight optic is dead on, exactly the one that was on the originals. This is very hard to find now as it is the 2007 model and the 2008 model has changed the mounting hardware as well as the button/trigger on the laserlight. But it's very close.

I'm really happy how it turned out.

That's Seet Ass Sweet.

Now get this mannequin and a Red Sweathshirt. Hang this rifle on the Mannequin for a display!!!

A $1,200 part?:cry Am I the only poor proper here?

The base is actually a found part -- just a cleaning/work stand for an AR-15. You can find several variations of these on the internet. Mine was only $35! I love it.

I'm sure questions will come up about what all the parts are so I'll come back and go into detail. You can build this sucker for just about <$1,000 -- the most expensive part is the xenon laser light (~$500).

The *original* (real optic) is $1,200 because it has that laser-aiming device that you can only see with nightvision. As I'm plumb out of nightvision gear, I went with a really nice, all-metal airsoft replica (~$180). It even has a 4x optic that works really nicely.

Nicely done.

I'd just suggest filling in the "ICS" logo in the trigger guard & painting it over.

Looks like that part is hinged?

Nice. That optic is nice too, i can't belive the cost on the real ones. My M4 clone that I built (real) did not even cost $1200 even with a bunch of slick add ons.

I cant for the life of me figure out why they put a presure switch on the right side of the gun near the top. You cant trigger it unless your finger is off the trigger and you cant fire and hold it down.

Nice! Way better than my attempt. You'll have to share where you picked up some of your parts. I really feel the urge to upgrade mine now. :)

Awesome piece:thumbsup

My thoughts were the same in why they would they put the pressure pad on the right side above the trigger :confused

The trigger guards on M16s, M4s, etc are all hinged so that you can use them with thick gloves. Especially in the winter.

I was Security Forces for the Air Force and carried one of these around every day for 5 years.

Great job on the rifle BTW, it looks absolutely fantastic!!

It's a Trijicon ACOG fiber optic/tritium sight. It uses no batteries but still illuminates at night (via the tritium). There is no laser/IR. I've got one on my AR.
