Showoff: PKD Custom Part Two

After my PKD custom job on the Rick Ross Snub here I set about putting together a custom version of the PKD Magnum. My inspiration was all the Chinese and Japanese influences on the movie. I figure that other parts of the world would have Blade Runner units, and this is my take on what a Tokyo PD weapon might look like.

From the start, I wanted to do an all-black weapon (the trigger-guard looks siver in the pics, but it ain't). The majority of the gun is satin black, with matt black grips and pearlised butt plate and pointer.

The crests on the grips are Japanese military collar pins, the badge on the bottom of the ammo housing is some sort of medal, all acquired from Ebay.

There are 3 LEDs in the magazine, with a large super-bright LED on the right side serving as a flashlight. They are powered by a 9-volt battery in the grip. The big LED on the rear of the pointer is non-functional.

This gun is BIG and almost feels like the real deal.

That is cool. I have the basic kit I bought years and years ago that I never finished. what do you use to paint the barrel? looks excellent. I wanted to add some color to the handle to make it less transparent.

Amazing work, Birdie. Very cool custom piece. Makes me wish that I had the talent and space to build one of these myself.

Thanks, guys :)

And thanks to Rick for his awesome kits :thumbsup

I wanna make a fanfilm now, just so I can show these babies off.

Great Work. Where did you get the insignia?

Hours of scouring Ebay B)

The grip emblems is something I have wanted to do too with a spares set of grips with one of my kits. I also am hoping to do a wood carved set out of some mahogony pieces I have. Most all of this depends on wether I can set up my studio at my storage space or I move into the loft space and set it up there. I can't do too much from a rented room. :p ...very cool stuff Birdie. It is nice to see people who aren't al anal about accuracy and personalize stuff instead. That is how Rick came up with his PKDs after all.

Love the gun :thumbsup

The crests on the grips are chrysanthemum they are the symbol of the power of the Japanese government. Something similar can be seen on the Japanese passport. Great idea.

Cheers Chris.

That is a mean looking blaster... I like the jumbo blue LED. It gives it that 'no-nonsense' feel. Well done. :thumbsup

It looks like you took out one of the red LEDs on either side of the clip. Is that to wire in the new LEDs? The Magnum is a Very bad A$$ gun.
