Show your Dr. Who props!

I think this is cheating as I was the art director for the new tardis but I saw this thread and couldn’t resist.View attachment 1881546View attachment 1881547View attachment 1881548View attachment 1881549
I think you won the thread.

Be honest, how funny / horrifying was it that they immediately did an explosion scene in this brand new set? :p

I've finally managed to obtain something of a "grail" piece I've wanted for ages, though it's technically not a prop: a genuine, vintage, British Army Brigadier's cap made by Herbert Johnson Hatters of London! The Brigadier has always been one of my favorite characters and Nicholas Courtney was the first actor from the show that I got to meet in person. Overall it's in amazing condition, the only real flaw being the oilcloth lining is mostly missing which is to be expected having likely hardened and fallen apart, and it fits me almost perfectly, lol

Cheers.

Yep it seam silly setting fire to it before it had even been seen but thats the industry. At least they didn’t want to blow it up too
I was honestly surprised they didn't have any kind of sendoff for Thirteen's crystal console room. If I remember correctly they had already dismantled that set before filming for the 60th had begun. Maybe they could have had a line about it being damaged and dying in Thirteen's final episode, but then that might have ruined the vibes of her regeneration scene.

Felt like the new showrunner might have intended for it to magically change along with the Doctor's clothes (and screwdriver, maybe?) but then we could still see the crystal interior when Fourteen exits the TARDIS in his Children In Need appearance and then nothing happens to trigger the change to this new look, it's just spontaneously happened at the end of the episode. Wonder if there was anything they could've done in the 60th to justify it, but I imagine without the crystal set the options were limited.

Each production has its own budget under its own production company. Unlike the old days when everything was under the BBC. So any prop/ set would have to be rented from the original production company. It’s a budgetary thing, everything has a dollar value attached. We nearly had to scrap the new design because the war broke out and over night the price of steel tripled and who is not a movie scale budget, so we struggled only making 3/4 of the set as it was.

So - anyone else get the surprise news they had another 'replica' prop in their collection yesterday...? I had to move this one into the display case ;-)View attachment 1891186
Yep! First thing I thought when I saw the new one. I ordered my about a month ago and it still hasn't arrived.

Just waiting for the new season to start and YET ANOTHER NEW SONIC to show up! :D

Edit: Not saying there WILL be a new Sonic, just saying that would be my luck...

I have the new sonic screwdriver (looks like a mouse to me) blue one, still have not gotten around to watching the new season. Oddly my early retirement is keeping me more busy than you would think.

I was actually referring to the old Dinky Police Box toy putting in an appearance

My HUMBLE collection (in no particular order):

TARDIS Dematerialization Circuit. Mooncrest.

Antiplastic vial. Made from a paintball tube.

Chameleon Arch pocket watch.

7th Doctor pocket watch. I just received this today, so I have not begun work on it. I may leave the watch unpainted, as I have not seen one both silver and gold/bronze tone before and I like the look.

The Mooncrest TARDIS keys, with a polished 3rd Doctor key on a rolo chain.

I have only reignited my interest in Who after many years focusing on other SciFi properties, so I am far behind on my collection. I hope to change that soon!
