Show your Dr. Who props!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

As for the Aztec heads, the one original maker stated that they were never reused.

What??????

But that is obviously not true as Tennet's Sonic (The one copied for the remote) has the head off of an Aztec??
I am not guessing, we see it on an Aztec on screen.

As for the June 2010 blog, it was written 3.5 years ago. New information has come to light since then. Part of it being the discovery that Nick Robatto never built any of the screen used 10th Doctor sonics. As for the Aztec heads, the original maker stated that they were never reused.

I'm more confused than ever! :lol

Both the heads on the A and B prop are not Aztec heads. They were shown to the creator of the Aztec who confirmed that they were not of his creation. To summarize, the heads of the A and B props used by the 10th doctor are not Aztecs and were not made by Robatto.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Good luck with the water pistol! It is very elusive, but I do know it is a Splashinator Luger type.

Yep, I know the type and how rare. Been a fun time searching the net for one of them I can tell you (read: Not fun at all)

I lurk around here these days but felt the need to sign in to add info on the pistol. It's actually based on a Walther P38, not a Luger. Took months of searching for me to get mine. Hope this makes the search a little easier for the both of you.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Of late, I have been trying to source the vintage folding camera, as used by the 7th Dr in "Remembrance of the Daleks". And I think I have found it!...

...On Monday, I bought this camera. It is a ZEISS IKON NETTAR 515/2 camera, circa 1938. And as you can see, it comes with the original customer receipt, instructions, envelope, case, etc! It was sold to somebody in Gillingham, Kent, England (not far from where I live) in 1939. Apparently, it is a German-made camera, which means it was purchased circa the start of the WW2!

Below is another photograph of the camera and some (poor, admittedly) screenshots of fhe screen-used camera. Cosmetically, they look more or less the same...

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I designed an Adquatic Tardis in MS Paint with the intentions of whiping it up in poser. I need to go back when I have the chance and finish it up.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I just ordered Doctor Who: The Vault: Treasures from the First 50 Years from Amazon. I've heard rave reviews, but does anyone know if there's any new info about any classic props in there? Second Doctor's sonic, etc?

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I've only just found this thread so I thought I'd post some pics of my Doctor Who stuff.

The 70's style cybermen pictured outside the Queen Vic pub in Albert Square - I'm the one on the left. Not screen acurate to the 'Revenge' cybermen but screen accurate to EastEnders. I made the helmet for the one I wore (and finished off raw casts for two of the others used on the show) and all the chest units, piping and piping junctions on all four that were used on the show.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Looks great! I've been fighting my wife about putting hooks on the wall to replace the coat rack I've had us using for years. The thing is more glue than wood and screws anymore but it looks too much like it belongs in a Tardis to toss in the dumpster.

Has anyone managed to ID Susan's transistor radio?

I've been trying to, but failing miserably!

Finally, I have Susan's transistor radio!...

...Armed with this and my John Smith and the Common Man 7" inch, I too can now do some w¤¤¤y hand jives (if you'll pardon my expression)!

It has been released under different brands, including Golden Shield model 7186, Transitone, and Realtone Sportsman TR-1645. It is a solid state six transistor radio, circa early 1960s.
