SHOW OF VADER SOFTPARTS. NEW PHOTOS ADDED

Steve Sansweet owns one of these suits in his private collection i'll ask him about the inner robe on his and see what he has to say.

Fantastic looking Vader suit.

There is a seam line visible in ESB but it has not yet been separated.

Actually the pattern for the ANH inner robe is totally different than the ESB/ROTJ inner robes.

Gino is correct......not the same cut for ANH as the other two.

Dave :)

As far as accuracy. This type of robe were used in the movies it can be seen in ANH. I have tried to look for prove of similar robe beeing used in the other movies.
If you look at ESB when he enters the Hoth hanger you notice his short robe. But try to look closer.. It apears it is split as well.

The stiching on the front is on all the versions.

In the red photo.... I disagree with the above.
If the robe were one piece and hanging so high up it whould dragged the side of the robe backwards and making the fabric tilt.

No offense TMP, but if your red photo indicates "proof" that the robe is split..........then it also means the cape is split at the exact same place which just isn't the case. It's a problem with placement only. The location would be all wrong for the split in the cape anyway.

Peace,

Dave

I agree no split. The hoth entrance set up is all wrong, not only is it short and incorrect it's out of place. Look at Vader shoulder bells and short dome. Okay it could be angles and lighting but never a good resource. It's like watching the Vader/Emp holo scene and using Vader's flipped photo in those scenes and using it to paint Vader's faceplate, Oopps, sorry Don Post.

I had mine made without the split as it should be. Your movement is more restricted but it's accuracy vs comfort. I go for accuracy, that being said TMP your quality is excellent :thumbsup

Well... seeing as the Hoth entrance shot was probably the first Vader scene shot there may have been some leftover ANH traits in that costume that was changed for later. Any thoughts on this?

EDITED: to get your full message included. :thumbsup

I added to my previous post while you posted above.

Vader's dome is short and a pic show the shoulder bells to be the two-tone version instead of all black. That with the inner robe being knee length, shows something is off other than additionally lighting or camera angles.

Another ANH feature is the small chin vent only seen in that one scene.

I agree Carsten. The Hoth scenes can be taken apart the most out of the whole movie. It has the most discrepancies.

:) I think this kind of reminds me of Anakin SKywalkers Jedi suit.
The tabbards hanging down. Notice on ep 3 the tabbards are longer in the front.
I se your point in ESB and ROTJ. But as i have mentioned before. If people speak about accuracy to one movie then it is impossible. Because in the movie they used several versions of the costume parts and not only one.

This is why i say if people absolutly want accuracy they must reffer to a scene not the movie.
Because it is not ONE answer but many.

The Darth Vader photo with the Redbackground consist of several movie parts.
Now try to spot them... Is it a ESB or ROTJ... Does it have some of ANH?
:angel

Anybody have any contact info for TMP? If so could you PM me with it. I've PM'd him several times and he has read the PM's but has not responded..

Thanks.

Actually it's all ESB. Great reference shot for an ESB suit. ROTJ hadn't even come out when that one was taken.
