Show me your Iron Man lighting.

You might have seen my foam build here on the board. Halloween is fast approaching, and I want to start tying up loose ends on the suit as I get closer to the end of the foam build.

I know there's alot of you out there with Iron Man suits. I'm looking for how YOU lit them up. Eyes. Chest RT. Hand RTs. Since i'm not a propmaker, i'm looking for homemade solutions. Household items, stuff i can pick up at Walmart, hardware store or readily available online.

I've bought a helmet cast from VashDStampede(Great work btw, thanks Vash!), and i'll be looking to wear with lit eyes. I really want to see how you light them up and see out of the helmet.

As for the chest, it seems like in most photos you cant make out much detail of the arc reactor, it's just one big bright light...any ideas on how to get a lightsource to diffuse itself across the entire RT?

All of your help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really hoping to have this suit done in time for halloween, so all of your help would be awesome!

Thanks fellow prop-fans!

Here's a link to the arc reactor I made for my son. It's pretty simple and was cheap. It is for a two-year-old, so you would need to find a container that is twice the size. I only used 1 LED and sanded the back of the lens and the tip of the LED to diffuse the light a bit. I would have liked the light to be a bit more diffused, but I don't have any room to do it.

I too need the answers to these questions.

But I can help a bit.

I picked up a two pack of led mini tap lights.. they are bright as hell.

I plan on then buying one of those large tap lights from the dollar store.. using just the plastic rounded portion... using this to defuse the led taplight within.

I've read on instructables.com that people used surface mount (SMT) led's. They have a 120 degree viewing angle which is pretty wide.

What I plan to do is glue a few to a plywood and wire them up and make a design for it out of sheet metal to put on top and copper wire. My arc reactor probably won't be movie accurate lol.

Instead of the SMT led's, you can use regular led's and sand the top as stated above or find a wide angle regular 5mm or 3mm led. They're easier to work with.
