So I have a pair of Adidas Star Wars Stormtrooper Top Ten HI's. Long story short I have not worn them since buying in 2010, they have not been stored anywhere damp or in direct sunlight. My problem is that the plastic has started to yellow on the sides, may have occurred a while ago but I haven't checked on them within the last 6 months. The shoes I have noticed now show slight signs of distress around the ankle and toes. So it may have been that they were a display pair (or tried on multiple times).

So is there anyway that I can actually fix the discoloration or am I now stuck with permanent yellowing? :cry

If you don't get other answers try youtube. Look for sneaker cleaning, you should find plenty of sneaker heads showing methods to restore icy soles, that might be applicable. Good luck!

What are you storing them in? If you are storing them in the original box, the acid in the cardboard may be causing the yellowing. The best thing to use is a Sterilite plastic box. Do not spring for the more expensive Rubbermaid plastic storage boxes. Sterilite plastic does not off gas where Rubbermaid will.

Hmm I guess the box may have done it, though I have another pair that I have had for longer and they do have plastic bits on it and no yellowing in them yet.
