Shipping UBER LARGE props

Trying to ship an item from US to UK.

96" tall by 44" wide by 26" deep - weight 120lbs

I got a quote from BAXGLOBAL of £430 plus VAT so £500ish or 900 USD

The prop is ready for collection in a couple weeks so I got a little time to better that price - however that might be hard to do.

FED EX was almost 3 times that price. :confused :confused

Anyone know anywhere cheaper than BAXGLOBAL?

--------------EDIT ---------------

BAXGLOBAL - 5 day .....£500ish or $945

FedEx Intl 3 day priority.... £1,830 or $3,500
FedEx Economy 1 week.... £1360 or $2570

DHL - almost £2,000 or $3800

UPS - dont handle a shipment that big.

You might want to try DHL. I am working on a shipment from Germany to the USA for a old car part. It is similar size but not as heavy. I am being quoted under $350 US and they take care of the paperwork, pick it up and deliver it door to door. You will need an import express account but that is free and just takes a few days to set up. No affiliation with DHL. Just been searching high and low to find a good shipper.

Or you might try shipping it by sea.

Will try just now - I`ll post the prices here - hopefully give everyone an idea whos ripping us prop people off the least 8)

------------------EDIT ------------------

DHL just quoted the highest actually...3,800 USD

Dont know if DHL have some crazy weight charges....

3,800 us dollars....OMG...

BAXGLOBAL - have the lead by a loooong way...

Im trying UPS but I hate them as they always interfere and I always get hit with customs - not always with other shippers. Will advise of UPS price.

Any other shippers???

UPS dont ship packages that big internationally - domestic yes - internatiional no.

I phoned DHL as I got the 3,800 quote from their web site and wanted to check as it seems so outrageous but they confirmed the 3,800 saying that over 100lbs the price rockets.

Im happy to check out more freighters if anyone has further suggestions...?

Thinking about it I`m gobsmacked at BAXGLOBALs price, I almost feel bad searching for a cheaper one... almost 8)

here in germany we call it "spedition"
like "schenker" "willi betz"

not sure if you want a fast shipping or a low cost shipping

I think I called the guy at DHL a SHENKER when he quoted $3,800 ;)

Im after air freight - so that really takes about a week unless you hurry it through in 3 days. Im ok with a week.

I take it the agency source you good deals rather than own the freight company?

cheers for the help BTW
