Here's something a little different. My wife and I had our second son 3 weeks ago, and we named him Coulson. Before we decided on a name we decided we would do an Avengers themed nursery. I partnered up with Eric ( hdtheater ) and he drew up the files and CNCed them out of MDF and acrylic.

All of the pieces are separate to make for easy painting and assembly. The backing is frosted acrylic so it can be lit from behind (it still has the protective paper on). Here's the rest of the nursery so far:

Congratulations on the birth of your son, another replica to add to the collection!
That is probably the coolest nursery I've seen.
Do you want to adopt me and kit out a room for me in your house?! :lol

Thanks everyone! It's very clean as-is, I just need to do a little sanding around the edges. I'll seal it with some shellac and hit it with primer tomorrow, so that I can hopefully get the majority painted Wednesday.

Awesome! I think you just gave me a idea. My 3rd son is coming on Friday. I may steal your nursery idea in some form. We have already done a Spiderman room for son 1, Superman for son 2, I still have not settled on the plan for son 3 but I really like your direction. Thanks for the post. Also, Great name!

:lol

I got some sanding and shellacing done last night and put the first coat of primer on. I have the day off tomorrow so I'm hoping to get some paint on!

The eagle parts are all done and the outer ring is in primer. I used spot putty to clean up the outer edge of the ring, so now it's nice and smooth. I'll get that painted later today.

I was thinking just some epoxy across the back of the pieces, but not too close to the edge and should adhere pretty good

Got the eagle glued on with some 5 minute epoxy and put it all together to see how it looks!

All that is left is to paint the bolt heads silver and install the clock mechanism. I also did a quick lighting test with some strip LEDs I had around. Still need to order something proper to fit the entire inside rim with a switch.

Very excited with how this turned out! I'm thinking I need a larger scale piece for my office now :lol
