Serpico tv show

Nice find Kenny, thats pretty much the same style of card that eltee has. The Feds also punch/stamp 'Retired' through their creds.

I bought the Serpico biography, and it shows his genuine ID card. Note it's been stamp punched RETIRED.

Yes, same design but a little later. I think this one is made with the Kodak (or similar) ID method. There's a slight differences with fonts.

Anybody know where they can punch that RETIRED endorsement on cards? They used to do that in the US on PD cards, now they actually (at least in my jurisdiction) issue a specific RETIRED LEO ID card so that you can carry your firearm throughout the US when honorably retired. I've looked but no agency I know of uses that RETIRED punch any more, and I was unable to find a service that does that.

We used to use them back in the day, but now we issue seperate cards too. I'll look around and make some inquiries to see if the puncher is still around the office somewhere...betting it isn't, but it never hurts to ask.

Kenny,

Once again, top notch work! :thumbsup
Thanks :)

In the movie it showed the era correct way NYPD members ID'd themselves, just the shield in a small, snapover "Jay Pee" leather badge case
I've seen that case in a few movies. Do you know where I can get one ?
Is it the type which is just like a small pouch ?

Looks good Marc :thumbsup

The only other way I can think of is to use a hole punch, the type used for leather, and do it one at a time.
The one I have can punch fairly small holes, i'll try it later.

Looks great Marc! I don't know if the diameter of the pin is too large, but a push pin may be easier to use than a sewing needle as it has a plastic base to grip with your fingers.

yes! Paul, hole by hole.. is long but good, not soluce for the quick more make

bests

I haven't done much with cards recently, just don't have the time these days :(
But here's a couple, these are based on genuine NYPD issued cards from the 1980s & current, with all fonts and details as close as possible.
