sealing foam

I'm going to be working, for the most part, the blue foam ozark camp mats from walmart and was wondering if the white glue trick i saw in a thread to seal it would work. I plan on reinforcing the parts with fiberglass cloth and resin as well. Any input would be appreciated.

I think those can be sealed with latex paint as a base, I believe a friend of mine used that combo on a project. I'll try and contact him to make sure.
