Screen Used and discarded.

Awwww, that is just sad!! As much as I hate to see them profiting off fans by exploiting sales of stuff from shows, it is more horrible to see it tossed into the trash...

Haha, I'm a member of another forum with the guy that took that picture.

I suggested he get his ass over there and get that thing.

Hi folks –

As soon as I saw this post over the weekend I reached out to our friends at Universal,
letting them know we'd be more than happy to acquire (and restore) the Mule if they no longer wanted it.
I'm very sure we could have found space in our warehouse.

But I've been told by The Powers That Be they are not getting rid of the Mule.

So, not sure what this is a picture of,
but I've made it clear to Universal should they ever want to get rid of the Mule (any version),
we should take it off their hands.

Just thought I should pass this latest along.

Hoax?
Or a prop that slipped through the system and was discarded?

We need more than one source to confirm or deny.

And, I would add, all those who were ready to send some cashy-money along to recover the BDM Mule,
might want to consider sending it to the fine folks of the Ariel Ambulance Rescue Group.

The Ariel Ambulance is a major prop acquisition already in fan-hands.
They just need some money and fan labor to continue the restoration.

Its not "the one" thats at US hollywood.

any US worker that would answer the phone would have no idea how many or which of what they had. to them its junk in the way.

I read over at Fireflyfans that three were three of these made. I'm pretty sure that this is NOT the one that sat next to the DeLorean at Universal. I have a couple pics of me in that vehicle and the wear patterns on the front end do NOT match the shot from the landfill.

This may be one of the other two units. Still sucks to see it scrapped though.

Yeah, I'm the guy that posted that, but I'm not actually sure how many they made. I know it was talked about in a 'making of' video, but it's been a while since I saw it.

If this thing hasn't been salvaged at this point I'm sure myself and the rest of the starcarcentral.com movie car collectors could get it out of the landfill assuming that someone wants to take it off my hands or a museum is ready to display it once I tow it out of the landfill and store it temporarily in my RV spot. I liked the film and show, but not enough to keep the shuttle as permanent lawn art.

My group has rescued several movie cars before - the spaceship wouldn't be too different. Looks like it fits in the back of a pickup truck so I could move it as early as next weekend. Anyone with a location and terms, step up to the plate.

If you can find and rescue it, I'll take it off your hands.

This reminds me of the shield generator bunker from the Endor moon in Return of the Jedi. Some guy hired to clean up the site used the pieces to make a fence in his yard!
