I think I'm drawing the line at the garage, unfortunately. All those natural shapes of the rest of the homestead make me queasy (sketchup and natural shapes are not friends). That said, I never intended to make as much of the docking bay as I did, but of course I let myself get carried away....

I do, after all, have blueprints of the fullscale Sandcrawler treads that were parked outside the homestead...

if Luke hoped 3P0 could speed up time, and teleport him off that rock, I wish he would teleport me *to* that rock and stop time... there're not enough hours in the damned day.
humm something like that:

I've acutally been thinking about doing an Echo Base. Since I have my new model of the full scale ESB falcon, and a model of the Elstree Studios soundstage that the base was built in (constructed from the blueprints in Art of Star Wars:Empire Strikes Back), I've been thinking about just going whole-hog, with snow speeders, X-wings, etc. The only problem is, I can't find my damn copy of Art of Star Wars. I'm starting to get worried I loaned it out while possibly (probably) intoxicated at some party at my house.

anyone happen to have a scan of that drawing?
About that, in case you haven't seen it, I also found those page previews of the yet to be released Rinzler Star Wars Blueprint book:
It seems a little different from the blueprint from the Art Of ESB…

Behold also this Lars Homestead top view (not that I want to influence you in any way :love):

where did you find those previews? I didn't see them among the previews on the office book site.

that book is driving me crazy, I must have it. one day, it will be mine...

glad you like them Hankey!

I don't think they're reversed, but I could be wrong. I think probably what happened is that I pushed the right side camera too far over. I hate that reversed stereopair feeling though; worse than having shoes on the wrong feet.

I would love to make Side By Side animations, but I don't think it would work with what I have. When I used Kerkythea to make the rendered walk up to the falcon, it created it's own path between the camera positions I had. In theory I could just copy that path over the the right, and render twice. But ultimately I think that it wouldn't work. Like two planes flying in formation, the view on the outside would have to speed up slightly going around bends to stay parallel with the other, which I wouldn't be able to figure for exactly. The result would be a feeling that one of your eyeballs was floating around randomly, and would probably be a great way to induce vomiting..... if anyone knows of a sketchup plugin that could solve this problem, I'm all ears.....

(ok, I just swapped them in paint to test if I had messed up somewhere. Maybe MC Escher got his ideas from swapped stereopairs; the lower of the two lasers being in front of the upper ones hurt my brain a little... what I posted up here is definitely not swapped...)

These aren't rendered yet, but I couldn't resist posting the crossview tests I generated from my falcon cockpit. I also wanted to bring this whole thread back on topic as far as the the title of Millennium Falcon Cockpit is concerned. I keep having to consider renaming it the "All things Millennium Falcon" thread...

thanks everyone for taking a look! I just saw that the views on this thread have got up to 30,000+!

I'm with you on this :)
I found them searching on the web, quickly scanning trough several websites, grabbing every new pic a stumble on…
So far I got about 40 different previews from that book, you want them?
(it's about 8Mb)

The prequels killed my love of all things Star Wars, so why do I keep tuning into this thread almost every single day?

Nothing but love and justice for the Falcon. Keep it up.

The prequils just killed your love for half everything Star Wars. Though I just love the ships and scenery. That is what George Lucas done right. But for the meat of it all I think George could have done better. As for Jar-Jar.

It is time.....

Execute Order 66

As for this model of yours. It is a piece of Ju...... There I go again being a line stealing hack.

This thing is a beauty and is my very favorite Rebel alliance ship with the X-Wing being the first runner up to the Millennium Falcon.

All the best
-Alex

{Fun Edit}
This IS my 66th post and I mentioned Order 66 in it. LMAO Very unwitting of me but very great.
