Hello all, I've been working on these little guys off and on for some time now. I figure it's time to post them here. As for the scale, I'll wait until I have one assembled and compare to a 1/72 scale figure.

Currently, I've been making molds and casting the parts for the engine legs and feet. I'll have these images up in the following week.

Absolutely fantastic!!! I admire anyone who can scratch at such a small scale. Did you scratch the Blockade Runner as well?

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Yeah, long time no see little chickens!

Glad you picked these up again Scratchy!

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Great work so far ;) Should be interesting to see further progress with those trees as well

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Those are very cute and well done Jay !
My only concern would be the feet which should have more an egg shape (top view) and the matilda part on the top of the neck which should be a bit wider, beside that those extremely well done !
Are you going to do an Endor dio ? With the landing platform ?? That would be awesome ! (I can see an AT-AT, it will rock with 2 grain of wheat bulbs under the head !)

Yes, I did scratch the Corvette, it's all plastic tube and styrene. This will be added in the ISD Hanger. I will make this removable.

Yeah, long time no see little chickens!

Thanks again for following along NAZGÛL.

Top notch!

Thank you Hollywoodhardware

They are coming along real nice!! :)

Thank you, once I have all the parts cast, I'll then add the details with styrene.

I have six tree trunks finished and another started. I've got a few more to go. I'll have a variety of small and large "Old Growth" trees.

Thanks for the advice MonsieurTox. I was planning an Endor diorama... it'll be the capture of Luke Skywalker. We know that he was transported in an AT-AT. Also, there is AT-STs on the moon as well as some speederbikes. I figure this would make a nice depiction of a side story that wasn't shown in the movie.

Thank you everybody for the kind words!

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Scratchy-you do amazingly detailed work on such a small scale!! Little beauties all of them ( including the AT AT in the background !!)

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Nice job ! I always liked the "Chicken" walker. Can't wait to see the finished piece. :thumbsup

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's (3)

Looks like it'll be a fun scene. Please put a squashed ewok under a foot (or two)! Just like it was random forest kill...:lol

I forgot to mention above, I'll have a lense on one end of each fiber optic (FO up against open flame) and I'll have some spotlights under the chin. That's the plan.

Thanks Kevjh, gotta ways to go.:sick

It'll be sometime... but it'll get there.

As much as I dislike those Lil'Buggers, I don't think I'll have one see their fate under the foot of the "Imperial War Machine". However, I was going to place a couple Ewok Scouts overlooking the area hidden from view. I can't imagine Luke leaving the Ewok village without raising suspicion from the local inhabitants, since a "treaty of cooperation" has just been formed.

Scratchy,
Aw man-o-man! Those are just too cool and packed full of crisp details for that scale! Fantastic fodder for a great Dio!

Keep it up and keep sharing the pics, please!:thumbsup

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's - X3

Well, here's the latest update on the three AT-STs and the Trees.

I have seven trees on the bench, and I'll more than likely make more. Whenever I mix up some A+B Epoxy for the ISD or the AT-STs, the excess putty will find it's way here.

MonsieurTox was kind enough to give me some measurements of his SS AT-ST foot pad, thanks again Julien, and I'm currently in the process of making a better foot. I made a "frame" and I'll fill it in with some putty, I'll tool it in the morning.

You can tell with this first scratch/cast, that the foot is not right. I have the updated one next to them.

Here's a pic of all the pieces that I cast, this is the first time that i did some casting, I'm happy with the results.... could be better, but first time lucky:unsure

Thanks for following along!

I just took a look at the pics, I think from now on, I'lll take all my photos on my drafting table.... the lighting is pretty good!

Re: Scratchbuilt AT-ST's - X3

It's not finished yet, I still have a couple areas to detail, then I can make a mold and start casting these as well.
