Interesting... A few questions though:

Does this have to be an original design or can you build a replica off an existing design?

When you say "no machining" does this only apply to things like CnC? Would a wood lathe be out of bounds? A Bandsaw?

Can pre-existing materials be used? I have a lot of scrap MDF sitting around, so buying new sheets would just generate more junk.

It's very tempting. Especially given i already have a few ideas anyhow lol. What if we already have bits and pieces laying around the house along with materials like wood and plastic sheets? Oops didn't see volpin bring this up.

I'm in too. This bad boy only ran me $28. Can't wait to see what I can do with nearly twice that budget!

If that was pretty much scratchbuilt I'm impressed but then again I'm impressed with just about anything you do Volpin I still remember the first time I saw your Big Daddy suit.

Are we allowed to use materials we already have, like scrap wood or pre-existing, leftover pieces from other things we worked on? And if so, and we don't remember the pricing of the scrap, do we only count only the cost of materials we've recently bought to make it?

Any parts of the weapon can be made of pre-existing materials, you must list the pre-existing materials used and for what purpose on a piece of paper when you send the reciepts, photographs and that sheet to my e-mail. And yes if you use any pre-existing materials such as MDF or another material you only count what you have purchased on your reciepts. Try to use as little pre-existing materials as possible.

If I see a portal gun made for less than $50 then I see volpin being a very busy man over the next few years....lol
