Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Here is a little info in case any of you get scammed again. If you have a complaint about any type of Internet crime, you can file an online complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The IC3 is a joint project of the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). The IC3's key functions for federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies will be (1) receiving online complaints, (2) analyzing them to identify particular schemes and general crime trends in Internet fraud, and (3) compiling and referring potential Internet fraud schemes to law enforcement. In addition to FBI and NW3C personnel, the IC3 will include agents and analysts detailed from other law enforcement agencies.

If you have a complaint about any type of consumer fraud, including any type of mass-marketing fraud, you can file a complaint through a toll-free Consumer Help Line, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or online with the Federal Trade Commission

They do investigate all cases reported to them. If everyone who has not received their items would take the time to file a complaint, when they investigate it could lead to felony charges with a MINIMUM of 1 year in prison.

I reported a personal fraud case with them awhile ago, but never heard anything back in regards....So I'm not sure if I'll hear anything back though

They handle lots of cases tubachris85x...I have had to report three cases and heard back from all of them. Two of the three times I've ended up getting refunds from the sellers. The third is still being investigated. You may want to call and inquire about the report you filed and see if there's any progress.

How long after you reported them did you get a response?

IC3 was suggested in this thread back in October, and no one has ever posted any word back or results since then. The IC3 only passes information on and does no investigation themselves, and they also do not give updates on your case. That is up to the authorities that IC3 decides to forward your complaint to.

You are right laellee, they don't investigate. It's basically a central intake center for your case. They can give you the contact information needed to get in touch with the agency handling the case, if you ask nicely. It took about six months before I heard anything back on one case, I think the other two were a little longer than that. Persistence pays off. I'm the type that will not let anything go and won't take no for an answer. Always keep your order confirmations on items you buy over the Internet and when possible pay through paypal. This gives you a permanent record of your sales transactions and proof of purchase that is unquestionable. PayPal tries to handle most cases when you purchase through them but I have had to go outside of paypal on the three cases mentioned above due to the fact that the sellers change addresses/cancel their accounts, etc. In cases such as with Loganprops, keep all communications between you two and get him to agree on a deadline/delivery date in one of his emails. This both shows that he acknowledges having your order and your money and that he agrees to have it to you by a certain time. If you contact him on Facebook messenger, take screen shots of those conversations as well and it doesn't hurt to take screenshots of his many adventures that he goes on while he is supposed to be working on your items. The more information you have showing negligence from the seller the better.

Yea, that's what I'm going through with member Evoc Props here. We've got 12 people total he owes to and has just disappeared. Some of them are overseas so I'm not entirely sure what we can do for those guys. He's decided to avoid contact with any of us and myself and a former friend of his were able to do a 3-way call and speak to him, in which he acknowledged what he was doing and gave us false promises....

Do you know where he lives? State? I would take him to court. Depending on the value of what is owed to you. This seems to be a close community here, if its 12 of you I would pool my resources together and everyone chip in for the fees to take him to court. If you can't find him, you can always have a private investigator get you an address for a fee of around $50. If the total value owed (by one or all of you) is $2000 or greater and this was done over the Internet he may be tried for a felony. If you know where he works, contact his employer and let them know what the situation is. Sometimes employers will not stand for this, after all a thief is a thief. Only contact the employer once though...it can be harassment after the first call...but 12 of you calling should get the point across. At the least it would be an embarrassment to him if he works for any decent business.

Oh we have his personal home address. We know exactly where he lives. He owes (by our estimate) over $4000 between all of us. I first called the police department in his city, who didn't seem to really want to listen to what I was saying and told me I had to call my local police. I finally called my local police station, very unprofessional the first few calls BTW, to which I finally was actually able to speak to someone, who told me that I had to have a police officer come out to my house to take a report, and then they'd have an investigator on it...

We called his place of employment. He works at an AT&T store, and the staff there didn't really seem too caring to get us on the phone with him..took us almost 2 hours!

He's surely reading this thread and what you're doing is very interesting indeed for the community, but it's giving him info that he should not be aware of.
Maybe PMs would be the route to take if you want to discuss in details this type of legal solution?

Mods, if this msg is not appropriate for the discussion please delete, I'll understand, since my intentions are not to stop the discussion, but rather a particular info given to the recaster.

At this point, I don't think it's a secret to Winant that people are considering (or have already taken) steps towards legal action against him. Letting him know that this issue isn't going anywhere and in fact can continue to escalate may encourage him to take more steps to settle these disputes.
He hasn't done much to reduce his exposure over the last 6 months, I don't expect that detailing legal action here and now will give him any cause for concern. At least not concern that he would act on. :|

This thread was brought to my attention by a friend of mine tonight who also knows this guy and agrees he's bad news. We've both tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but she's been weary of him since he was booked as a guest/judge at a convention she put on with a team of people (one of them being a friend of "Jim's".) The photo advertising him a guest was reported so many times their FB pages were shut down, they were locked out. This means all admins on the page had their personal pages locked as well as all other pages they admin for. She had told me that she pushed for him to be removed but got shot down by the crook's friend..well apparently they believe her/everyone now cause not only did him being associated with this con lock them out of their pages but he also pissed off a few people at the con. No surprise there...

image.jpg I saw this on FB today. Also I saw some of you talking about his edits, I'm pretty sure he does them himself as OulawFX

That's for Adam Jay's Kickstarter project. Apparently Winant's involved with that project, since they're shooting in L.A.

Hi all. No need to give my back story here. I am one of the scammed. I am not a cosplayer, nor a propmaker. That is why I wanted a prop made in the first place. I only joine this forum site to keep up with this thread alone. I just want to see this guy get put down at this point. It seems like he has slowed down a bit from more and more awareness of this guy. I did notice he was tagged in one of Adam Jay's Facebook posts not too long ago. I'm not sure if Winant really is involved anymore or at all. Guess we'll see if pictures pop up. I am a fan of Adam Jay so I don't know. Adam put up a post today and Winant was not tagged in it.

Welcome to the board and thread. Sorry about your scammed situation with Winant.
From "Loganprops"'s instagram page, he says he is making stuff for Project Lex.
True or not, don't really care.
That is the main purpose of this thread, to bring awareness of this scammer, so people don't lose their hard earned money.

Winnant's making the props for the shoot, or at least some of them. Saw a few BTS photos of the shooting and Dave's in the background of some Instagram shots

I was contacted via email by someone claiming to be LoganProps on instagram, wnating to procure my Spider-Man game belt.
Having previously read these threads I promptly told him to go to hell.
